Hi tk! So sorry for leaving you alone there for a while. I was so busy with some other things that I did not realize I had forgotten to check in!

May I ask how much you weigh? And how much would you like to weigh? If you are doing Atkins by the book, not cheating, exercising (weight and aerobic training), drink 64oz + 8oz for every 20-25 pounds you need want to lose and taking your supplements like you should be, then you WILL see results! It is just a matter of time. It took you a while to gain the weight, it is going to take a while to lose it. Be patient.... Also, you might want to measure your portions and ingredients out using the proper utensils. It could be that you have a certain something in your menu that is causing your weight loss to slow down. (This is why I am avoiding those certain trigger foods from my induction.) Try eliminating something from your daily menu. Cheese is a staller as well as sweeteners. Decaf coffee isn't, as long as you drink 2-3 cups a day and go easy on the cream and sweeteners. Try posting a menu in the Induction forum, or here, and maybe I can find something in it that will give me some answers. Also, make sure you are getting in enough calories as well as the 65% fats, 5% carbs and 30% proteins a day.

I have been doing great the past few days. Not many cravings, and alot easier to manage. I have figured out a few ways to spice up this KISS WOE. It's difficult, since it limits the yummy extras that are allowed, but it makes me more creative as to what I can have.

      HI, Everyone.
I am new to this. I really need support throughout this. I need to lose about 50 pounds but, I wind up getting sick of eating the same foods. I cook all of the food and wind up sampling my family's food. NO chance of getting them to change! I really need this for my self esteem. My husband's pant's kept falling off of him today and today I couldn't get mine buttoned. I really need some good solid advice about some good recipes and ways to avoid boredom with this phase and how to build will power. I will just give in and
eat when I know I have to lose.

Chynna, I started at 188. I'm down to 182 after 2 weeks of Induction.
Meals almost always consist of 2 sausage and egg biscuits (from McDs) in the morning, minus the buns, and 2-3 cheeseburgers for lunch, minus the buns.
Supper is usually salad and meat. Not too exciting. I don't really snack that much anymore, and I still haven't had a pop (2 weeks and counting!!) :joy
I am continuing to drink as much water as I can. Usually close to 100 ozs a day. I am taking the Atkins 3 basic supplement, as well as Chromium picolinate. I don't get quite enough water on the weekends, but I am still drinking some.
I don't want to make it sound like I'm depressed, because I do feel better. I feel I'm losing inches, but not weight. My clothes do fit better, I can feel that. I'm still excercising, as I knew I would. I'm going to continue on Induction for a while, or at least the habits I've started during Induction. I'd like to introduce berries or a dessert type food to my diet, to change it up a bit. Creating a chocolate mousse from cream and cocoa sounds good. I'm not going to the frankenfood just yet, but I will admit, I ate a lot of frankenfood the first successful go-round I had on Atkins.

tk, I strongly suggest that you go to the McDs website and look up the nutritional info on the foods there. Did you know the egg alone contains 5g carbs! That's usually 3-4g more of carbs than you get in your eggs at home! Most of the food from McDs has some type of filler in it that adds the carbs on. My suggestion, go look in the freezer section of the store, pick out a nice box of sausage patties with minimum sugars and fillers and pop them in the microwave before leaving the house for work. Not only do you save on the carbs but it is good for your wallet! lol

Chromium Picolinate is a great supplement. I take it myself. But I also suggest that you take CoQ10, 300mg a day. This gives your body a thermogenic effect and helps burn the fat, while making you look young and gain energy. You can also take L-Carnitine before exercising to help burn more fat. I also suggest you read over the sticky's in the VitaNutrient Supplements Forum. Great info there!

Water....Now, you probably know by now that is also one of the non-negotiable rules of Atkins. Without it, you cannot flush out your fats! Try to make it a habit of carrying one of those drinking bottles everywhere. I do it. Whenever I see the brightly colored thing, I take a drink.

Good that you don't plan on adding the frankenfoods just yet. Best to add them in slowly after you've found out how many carbs you can tolerate in one day. Desserts, heck there are a bunch at the top of the page under the Recipes button! Lots of yummy ones too! (chocolate clouds! I have to try those when I'm allowed to! Cream cheese, cocoa, sweetener...and I'm going to add some mint extract for Mint Chocolate ones! yummy). You can add all that in after your first 2 weeks of induction.

OK... now to give my report of my progress...lol...

I'm actually doing very well. Did you know that the chromium picolinate is responsible for why I have no cravings for sweets? I have been taking 1000mg a day and I have no desire to have something sweet! And you know those sweet-tooth cravings always plagued me in the beginning. Now, I can bravely look at the M&Ms and hand them to my daughter with no second thoughts of wanting any! yoo hoo!

As for my candida, I know it's down to a minimum. I feel alot more energetic and better since I've been doing KISS.

            Hi elovele!

            Welcome to the challenge.

Alot of people think that Atkins is just about meat and minimum veggies. Well, there are ways to prepare them that you just cannot get bored of it! Check out the Recipes button at the top. You can also go to www.atkins.com for ideas on each phase of Atkins. There are so many ways of preparing the food, and alot of them are simple and easy.

Once you go on Atkins and do the first 2 weeks, you will notice that your hunger will drop, you will feel satisfied with measured portions, you won't want to snack that much and you especially lose the cravings too.

If you need support, we will be here for you. Also try posting on the induction forum for further support!

            Take Care! :wave

Wow, didn't realize there would be an issue with fast food eggs, sausage, etc. I thought an egg was an egg was an egg.... I'll do my research now.
1000 mcg of Chromium a day! That seems like a lot to me, but that does not mean much. I only take about 200mcg.
Yes, I know all too well how important the water is. Exercise as well.
elovele, if you're reading this, take not of the above statement !!! :nod
I found a great snack last night in heavy cream, cocoa, and Splenda. Whipped up, it makes a mean chocolate mousse....consumed in moderation :sarcasm
Sounds like you're doing well Chynna, congrats to you! Have the inches or Lbs been going down as well?
              Keep up the good work.

Hi tk...I hope that you enjoyed your weekend!

As for myself, I am a bit under the weather. I've been sick for the past few days, so I feel miserable. I made some induction-friendly chicken soup and I have been eating from that all day. I made sure to put enough chicken in it to keep my calories up, since I'm having a hard time keeping up with them now that I have absolutely no appetite! I hate flu season! :sadblinky

Funny you should ask.... yes, the inches have peeled off of every single body part! I measured myself again today and in 14 days, I lost 11.09in total! Plus, I weighed myself and I am down 9lbs in 14days! I am so excited! It will probably drop a bit again, since I have no appetite. I am eating, just don't really taste it, so I don't want to eat.

Hope all is well with you!

My weight loss has been slow. I haven't measured yet, but I have lost approximately 8 lbs. Induction week 3. This was the same way I started in the past, so I'm not surprised, but it is coming off. It's a journey, and I keep reminding myself of that.

One good way to look at it tk, at least it is coming off instead of back on! :yes

You're doing a great job and your efforts are paying off. That is what counts. It may be a slow process, but the results are still worth the while. I lost 9lbs in 3 weeks and that is great for me. My 2nd time on induction, I barely saw any results. Maybe 3lbs in 1 month. I was miserable. But now that I have taken another approach by eliminating those trigger foods that I overinduldged in, I am seeing better results.

Congrats on those 8lbs down! :icondance

Hi there and welcome to ha

Thanks for stopping by and making the decision to join this challenge. I would have replied sooner, but I have been sick with the flu for the last few weeks and am finally back to my old self again!

I will be doing another clean induction starting this coming Monday. This flu was very hard on me this time and my homeopathic medicines were not helping me at all. So, I had to use cough drops (very high in sugar alcohols) and regular medication.

Do you plan on eliminating one or more items from your eating plan? What will you be eliminating and for how long?

If you need any help or support, just stop by and post a message or you can IM me.

Take Care and have a great weekend! :wave

                          Hi there!
Chynna, you've made such a great job here! I really enjoyed reading through all your posts and I learned pretty much from there! Thanks.
Actually I came to this forum to start a challenge just like yours. But luckily I just have to ask if I can jon you. Can I?
I'm on induction (re-re-re-re...) since Nov 17th and I've gained 3 pounds :yikes . So I have to find a way to do this better. I'm planning to cut off all dairy (cream and cheese), decaf, sweeteners, processed foods. Stick with whole foods and natural stuff. I did the spit-test about candida this morning and seems I have to worry about it, too - althouh I haven't quite understood yet, what exactly is it. My dictionary gives me nothing (I'm not English-speaker) and haven't got time yet to surf the web about it. I will, and I'd like your simple and easy explanation on the issue as well
So, I'm ready to start tomorrow. It's evening here already! Talk to you soon!

                            Hi Moonwish!

Thank you for the compliment! :wave I'm glad that this challenge has provided you with some information that is helpful to you in making changes with your Atkins WOE. Of course you can join! Everyone is welcomed to join at any time.

I noticed that Candida was a huge topic on the boards just recently. No one ever thinks they will have it and that they are just having a hard time losing the weight. I thought the same thing, until I took the spit test.

Candida is a yeast. Candida Albicans is the common yeast that we all have present in our systems, however, it can get out of control. Eliminating all dairy, sweeteners, fermented, cured, processed and products that have been altered by man will help to starve out the yeast. I personally used fresh garlic in my meals and grated into my salad (garlic is a natural yeast fighter) and Acidophilus with L-Bifidus supplements along with a KISS diet to eliminate my yeast.

You will have to do KISS for at least 6 weeks in order to kill out the yeast. Sometimes it helps to keep your carbs down a little under 20g (it worked best for me to keep to 13 to 15g of carbs a day). You should stay away from refined sugars at least 6 months after the yeast is destroyed.

If there is anything else you would like to know about the KISS WOE, I can send you a few links as well as inform you that Becky Sue has some wonderful links also.

                            I hope this helps!

Thanks, Chynna, for your explanation! I did bit research myself, but I would also like the links you mentioned.
Seems like some of my "personality" depends on that yeasty-thing! Like mood swings, fatique, irritability... etc. My bf would be totally happy to get rid of those symptoms LOL!
Started this new WOE today and I'm totally excited! Feels like doing Atkins for the first time. I had plain canned (in oil) tuna for breakfast, and only afterwards I started to think, if it's also processed food and I shouldn't had eaten this. Whatever, had no time for cooking, so basically no options. Lunch was cauliflower with ground beef/pork, dinner the same - just added an egg and some flax and overcooked it + fresh cucumbers, some mayo. Actually I'm pretty proud of myself - came home for lunch very hungry, but took the time to cook cauliflower with meat - didn't eat the sausage!
Craving coffee already - and I thought I've broken this addiction! Looks like there was still too much coffee in my daily decaf! Anyway, i wouldn't tdrink this without cream and sweetener, so off it is.
Howś it going for you? I see I'm talking-talking-talking... Must shut up now.
Tomorrow's gonna be harder - leaving home 8am, back maybe 10 pm (school and work and school again). Let's see.
