Good morning! Well, almost afternoon here now. I'm so happy to see that everyone is dedicated and the thread just keeps getting longer and longer.

I would like to direct your attention to my flashy button that says I'm 5 days cheat free!!! I'm so happy, happy, happy with myself. If I was doing low-fat, I would have caved after about 8 hours on the first day. And I would be dreading the weekend, but now I'm not. I'm looking forward to it because I know I'm stronger than the pantry (that's where all the nope foods reside).

I honestly haven't been tempted to cheat in the last 5 days, but I did have my first speed bump last night. DH and I went to dinner at a BBQ place and I was already mentally planning my meal when I looked at the menu. First - I bypassed the peanuts that DH was offering me because I'm not in OWL. Then there was not one good side choice for veggies. Most places at least have green beans, not this place. But instead they had this magical thing called a 'chunk-o-cheese', so I asked what it was thinking it was battered and deep fried. Nope, just a hunk of good ole cheddar cheese. So I had a well thought out dinner and wasn't even tempted by the fried okra or cheese balls.

Marion - I wanted to say congratulations on your 2 pound lost!!! That's wonderful. You'll be at the 300 mark before long. We'll really miss you on your vacation, but we know you'll be enjoying yourself and relaxing.

Jeanette - It sounds like you're having a tough day. Spill it girl - don't keep it inside, it causes cravings...

Dolphin - It sounds like you're in a more positive frame of mind this morning. So glad to hear that.

Lady_Hawke - It's good that you're preparing yourself for any comments that will come from your DH. But please be careful, if he's prone to violence, don't do or say anything you know will provoke him. Been there sweetie - it ain't fun.

Tommy - Where are you?? We miss you!!

I know I've just touched on a few posts, but I've just read thru them all and my head is spinning. I'll catch up more later. I know we'll all be strong today and come post when the thought to cheat crosses our minds.

Well, I caved this morning. I have a sick baby (he's almost 7!) and was up all night and had to hit the doctors office first thing. I was so hungry by then that we hit the drive through.
Will try again tomorrow but with the weekend and an event I am going to, it's going to be tough.

Aww, that's too bad kislandmom. If you're in that pickle ever again, hit the drivethrough, but try to go for a hamburger without the bun, or a grilled chicken sandwhich sans bun. It'll get you through without cheating!

Kudos on coming clean and good luck this weekend...you can do it!

I can empathize on the drive-thru story. I found that at McDonald's they have grilled chicken sandwiches, and I order a couple of those "protein style". They come in a nice container that's easy to manage, extra lettuce that can be wrapped around to keep it from getting too messy, and a fork and knife. I ask for extra napkins as well as they don't have the advantage of a paper wrap or bread to keep them from dripping. They also offer terrific salads, but beware of the dressings. I noticed that their Newman's Own Caesar has added sugar that the store-bought bottled lacks. I don't care too much for "protein style" burgers because of the extra grease. Also the American cheese food slices they use have extra carbs... but the grilled chicken sammiches are nummy without all that bread.

If it's for breakfast, I order a side of eggs and a couple sides of sausage or bacon. You can request that they put it all on one platter for easier munching.

Hi everyone...popping in really quick between steps on my cinnamon roll making.

Kislandmom... It takes a while to get the hang of what to order where when you get in a bind. I've had to do the eggs and sausage without the bun at McD's alread. In general, there isn't anything a place like that won't do if you ask. McD's grilled chicken ranch salad is wonderful, but get the Italian dressing with it...I agree, their Neumans' Ranch dressing has 9 carbs in a pouch!!! What is the need for that I ask you??

Jeanette....talk to us, babe!!! We're here to help if you need it!

Hello to everyone else...glad to see you're all truckin' along in good behavior! Gotta run!

                      Hey Ralynda

Congratulations on FIVE DAYS being CHEAT FREE!!! Isn't it amazing how much it helps to come here (and of course doing low carb fits in there somewhere ).

It is exciting to not only feel better, but our clothes are actually getting a bit looser every day as we do this. My pants are already fitting a tiny bit looser today from Monday when I started. Woo Hoo!

Yeah for us and our "cheat free" group!!

                      Happy Day!!

CONGRATS ROSHAN!!!! A new shiny button for you!!!

I hit a milestone today, folks! This is the first time I've made cinnamon rolls without tasting the frosting. I didn't even taste it and spit it out, like I used to do. I'M A HAPPY CAMPER!!! And even though my house smells to heaven of fresh hot cinnamon rolls, I don't even feel like tasting it! I OWE IT TO THIS CHALLENGE AND ALL OF YOU!!! But if you can, please remember the family for whom I made them. Their son was playing by a giant soccer goal, and the thing tipped and fell on his head, causing massive brain injuries. Many parts of his brain are completely dead, but he has already done things they thought he never would, like move his hands and legs on command, and move his eyes. That means he can hear and understand orders. He is only 8 years old...and a very sweet boy. Thanks!!!
