Re: New Me for 2007 New Years Challenge!

whooo hoo! Isn't that a great feeling to know you don't have to buy XL anymore! I remember when I went to buy some new clothes and I took all XL and they were too big! They just weren't form fitting and made me look bigger than I was~ I had to go back and get Larges! I even have a couple medium shirts... that are now undershirts but they do still fit! just a bit snug! and I m sure they will after I start going to the gym tomorrow too!!!

well, I just put some laundry in I think I will head back to bed for a few...

    Later guys!
Caution I BITE! clicky clicky..its tricky rikki!

Re: New Me for 2007 New Years Challenge!

        Well Jess . . . Thank You

Because of you I have now joined both the November abs challange and the Stair Climb challange.

Just asking me what my plan to reach goal was, made me realize that I actually need to get up and DO SOMETHING in order to get there. I can't just sit around thinking about getting abs, or reaching goal. DUH . . . I can't believe how simple, yet it totally evaded me.

So Here is my pledge for the rest of 2006:

        - Continue lifting weights 4x week with DF (DF = Dear Fiance)
        - Work towards my stair climbing goal everyday (in 5 "flight" incriments)
        - Do 50 crunches a day (C'mon abs!!!)
        - Drink all my water and track my food intake
        - Follow a clean induction for the rest of the week, then move on to OWL
        - Do my morning & evening routines, because these help me stay on track.

        and the biggist of all:

        - Not let my perfectionism get in the way. If I miss doing one of the above mentioned, it doesn't mean I have to give up completely.

I'm off to eat dinner now!! I'm so excited about this thread.

Re: New Me for 2007 New Years Challenge!

Wow Shilo, girl you are one organized chic! Yeah better watch out for perfectionism...
the object is to be living a balanced life all the way INTO jan...Creating a level of activity that is REASONABLE, and ACHIEVABLE...
If you shoot too high you could burn out and walk away and then you won't be here in Jan with US!!!
It's a day to day exchange laying down the sugars and processed crud...taking up the low carb lifestyle, one day at a time...Think consistency...

Personally for me, the weight loss has been a surprise! A huge surprise...But what is IMPORTANT to me is the daily lifestyle so that I am HERE on day 100 which is this week, and then Jan 1 is my next date that I want to be here...then March 14th my birthday, which will be the big 5-0 this yr...so that's BIG, and then my 1 yr. anniv.

The weight will come off, but if I don't build a life, the Weight will BE BACK, when I walk away...
That's what we have to consentrate on Shilo...that's what we need to deal with...
All 4 phases of the program...
Keep us posted, and NO perfectionism....

            Jess, is such an inspiration isnt she! She's the motivational queen She picks my butt off the floor, when its sitting down, and then gives it a kick to keep me going - all in the nicest possible way {{{{hugs to Jess}}}

I hear you! and completely understand your above statement! In the past I have most definitely been the Queen of SS (Self Sabotage) but I am refusing to do this to myself anymore. Perfection is no longer want I want - Persistance I will grasp!

Thankyou Jess, I needed to hear this today as well! I'm getting so excited with my mini weightloss that its really easy to get carried away and look too far into the future, instead of sticking with it in the "now"

Again, how true! Im slowly realizing that Jess... Especially by hanging around the Its always seemed easier to think "diet" than "way of life" or "lifestyle change" - less scary in fact. But in reality, you cant succeed or maintain with the "diet" unless you change your "lifestyle" Catch 22 huh? Lets see, its only taken me 10 years to be able to put this into words, and I actually thought of myself as a reasonably intelligent woman - go figure!

Re: New Me for 2007 New Years Challenge!

Hi Everyone! I agree with yall, perfectionism is to most unattainable... there will always be soemthing somewhere that we want and won't get! But we will get this extra weight off and keep it off with this WOL!!!
That being said... tomorrow is my start the gym day and I am also pledging to do 100 crunches 5 days per week! also I am going to start a cheat free days thingy(i did it last time and it really otivated me not to cheat, cause I don't want anyone to think I would be a cheater!!!! and I knew if I cheated I had to take allllllll those days away! So, this is day 7 for me, and I am going to change my siggy now!

Hope everyone has had a great weekend, aside from arguing with DF, I am good... my water intake is up some but I am still struggling with the 100oz a day I promised myself!!!

Re: New Me for 2007 New Years Challenge!

I have been laying a foundation of understanding with my daughter about this becoming a way of life, not a short term diet...I am sure you have read and or experienced first hand what happens when we GO OFF this way of eating....We go back into carbs, at first carefully, then with abandon, to the point of regaining all the weight, And MORE!

My daughter travels with the school to Wash DC in March. Slowly we have been turning our understanding to how to modify eating that trip, not go off plan and eat away...Since we are carb addicts in the house, we cannot afford to THINK she can survive even one bite! If that will click in her head, she will have a leg up on this trip.
Her weight loss as been slow, her inches are really starting to respond...Yesterday she wore pants that she could not fit into for 2 yrs...Then I put on a pair of her pants that she wore in 8th grade, we all stood there laughing until I zip them up, HELD MY BREATH and buttoned them...We went silent, hubby spoke first, "Oh lookie there"... Caitlin froze, I was getting close to her territory, and even tho I could not move, or breath in those pants, I was in them...for the moment.
I think me getting within range of her previous weight is going to really throttle her competative world...
But it's all about way of life! Not a diet, Not "until I get there"...but finding ways to make Atkins last and become a way of life...
I am not kidding when I say I want to be here on my dates, especially Jan 1.
So, today in light of this I will NOT EXERCISE. I will give myself rest. Which is hard considering how I am driven...But i need it. Rest is equally important to progress.

Good for you Jess! I'm pleased your giving yourself a rest today, so that you can recharge yourself!

Today, I walked the kids to school and back.
Went to the gym and did 20 minutes vigorous bike riding, 20 minutes on the cross trainer, and 10 minutes walking.

All up my milage was; 13.6 - so Im happy with that.

Water is up to the 70 ounce mark - again happy here!

Feeling very tired though, but not in a sore way - more like in the TOM way - so I'm heading off to bed, and will catch up with you all in the morning!

Rikki - great to see your getting your water in! We can do it

Look at us pushing forward and making permanent changes in our lives! Go US!

So much positive energy here - I love it!

I'm guzzling water and waiting for a break in work to go exercise. No scale until the end of November, but I did a Keto stix and whoo hooo! Deeeeep ketosis. That always tells me I'm doing good and it keeps me centered and strong.

Rikki - oh yeah, that is atkins energy and you CAN have it every day.

Jess - you fit in C's jeans?? WHOA! 9 more to go until it's a 50 pound loss? Girl, you will be there long before Cmas!

I'm so pushing for my goals... exercise and weight! I want it so bad. To be under 200? It seemed impossible when I first started out at 267 (gosh that's hard to type!). But now? It really seems obtainable.

I didn't make it to the gym tonight unfortunately due to unforseen circumstances... but hopefully tomorrow will be different. however, I have vocal lessons after work so I will have to try exceptionally hard to fit it in... if nothing else, maybe I can walk around the building at work if its not raining! I did go play cybertag today though, what a blast and it was a mini workout!
