Joy, I've been lurking in your thread and snibbling to myself that I need to clean up my act. So, do you have a supersized mop that I can borrow?

Sher... I know what you mean about the candy. You can't imagine how many times I've bought bags of chocolate "for the candy dish...just for company", and then ate it all myself. Suuuuure it was for company!

Hope everybody has a great day! I'm off work today and hope to get a good hunk out of the rest of my Christmas shopping. I'm probably 75 percent done already.

Re: Cleaning it all up for Christmas

I would like to join. I was in extended induction for a few weeks, but then I kind of fell off the wagon during Thanksgiving. I have been trying to get back on board this week, but I have had the flu...I couldn't workout, I couldn't really cook myself anything healthy, and I resorted to eating junk food to make myself feel better. I am almost better, but I haven't slept through the night all week because I have coughed the entire night. I am tired, and I just want some caffeine or sugar to get me through the day. I really want to start getting up in the mornings and exercising before I go to work, but as many times as I set my alarm to get up early, I still never end up getting out of bed until the last possible minute. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to wake up better in the morning and work out? I really need to increase my workouts, correct the food mistakes I have made in the last week, and increase my water intake by about 25 ounces. I would really like to clean it all up before Christmas, but I am going to need a lot of help getting it cleaned up. Please help me

The ironic thing is that when you stick to Atkins you wake up more refreshed and able to exercise. How you force yourself to do so before you are fully back on plan, I don't know!

                  Cher, it sure is!

Aimee, you BET you can join us! Welcome.

Lisa, Mops all around for EVERYBODY! Glad you're here with us.

Winter, never in my life has candy purchased for a candy dish lasted long enough for someone other than me to enjoy it. But, that's a past life for us, right??

Ashley welcome! One of the reasons you aren't well rested and bounding out of bed in the morning is because of the carbs. Get them OUT of your life, get yourself into ketosis and you'll get your energy back. That's the funny thing about carbs, they're like flash fires. A very intense burst of energy but then nothing and you have to add more carbs to get that energy again. However, with ketosis its a slow constant burn. Focus on one thing a week. This week, get your eating and water back under control, then we'll worry about next week when it comes.

Helena, glad to see you here!!!! Did you make it through the day on plan?

Thanks, Joy. I'm glad there's enough supersized mops around.

Winter...you're cute. Candy dishes are for tossing dimes in at a carnival, right? lol. Hey, there's an idea. Every time you pass by the empty candy dish, toss a dime in it! Imagine all the cash you'll have to buy a new pair of shoes

...or to buy more candy! JUST KIDDING! I can imagine alarms going off and a swat team being called in just for that comment...

SO last night I made stir-fry for myself. Before atkins, I would have eaten most of it WITH rice, during Atkins and before the "clean-up" I would have divided it into 2 portions. Last night I made myself divide it into 4 portions, put the other 3 away before I even sat down to eat mine, and was really, actually full and satisfied with my 1/4. It did help that it was REALLY SPICY!!! But that was good, because I drank about 70oz. of water JUST with dinner.

Today I'm starting the triathalon, and I'm going to try for 5 treadmill miles today...I'm going to do walk/run intervals...wish me luck, it's been a while since I've been on that baby!

Re: Cleaning it all up for Christmas

Morning everyone, i am so glad i put that candy back yesterday i was dying for some about 10 and i know i would have eaten it all lol. But since i didn't have it i couldn't eat it and i am way to lazy to actually go out and buy some that late at night lol. One good thing about my laziness. Thanks for the support. May and Jamaica is going to get here awfully fast, i have 5 months until the beginning of may, i am not sure when we are going yet, but i want to be ready!

Hey winter lol i am off until Wednesday, but i would gladly give you my list iffn you really want it.

So what is up for today? Today i am

                              1) Getting recipes together
                              2) getting a list together and going shopping
                              3) cooking the recipes
and 4) sorting everything out into portions and freezing them for easy access.

i am trying to get innovated and i bought a picture album that i am going to start filling with my favorite recipes for easy access. So i will also write all these on cute little 4x6 cards lol (holds up all her markers)

and finally, i always feel more in control when i am clutter free, over the last couple weeks, clutter creep has occured in my house, so today i am also cleaning up my act in my house (i.e., wrapping presents i do have already, picking up all my clothes strewn around, deep 6ing my bathroom and kitchen, cleaning the fish bowls, and picking up the many many many many books i have strewn around.

Once i am in control, i will (it seems) make better automatic choices in eating.

I hope everyone has a great plan today. All of the decisions in this thread are really motivating. Thanks for playin!! I look forward to being a loser with each and every one of you.
May you all be losers, Sher

I can relate to that so much. When things in the house are in disarray...everything seems to get out of control. When I keep everything around me neat - the house, my car, my office at work - I eat better. That seems odd. But I agree completely. When that stuff is in control, my eating habits seem more under control.
