Re: Cleaning it all up for Christmas

So last night was this fancy shindig holiday party at work. The food was incredible as always. Here's what I had

1 glass of white zinfandel wine (I know its not induction, nor rung 1)
    1 slice roast beef
    1 tbspn horseradish sauce
    1 slice turkey
    8 shrimp
    olives
    cut up veggies

I did NOT have ANY eggrolls, breaded and fried stuff, mini quiches, bruschetta, crackers or anything like that. I did NOT HAVE ANY of the ENORMOUS CHOCOLATE FOUNTAIN with fruit, cakes, marshmallows for dipping. I DID NOT have any of the other wonderful desserts either.

I think I did pretty doggone good.

This morning I've gotten 48 ounces of water down already

I'd agree that you did a fantastic job last night, Joy! I can imagine the temptation of sticking your face in the chocolate fountain for a taste . White Zin is just the cat's meow, isn't it??? Glad you're drinking your water

Lisa! I wasn't correcting your spelling, I didn't even notice it! But you actually said croutons out loud! That's what the slap was for!

Joy, darn good job at your event. The wine won't kill ya, and I bet it was tasty too.

lol..I know, Silly. That's why I typed it in small letters and spelled it correctly. I figured if I was going to say it outloud again, I might as well spell it right, but not say it so loudly. lol. It's one of those, "Oh, man! I can't believe I actually did that" post. lol.

Re: Cleaning it all up for Christmas

Hello...well cleaning it up this week has really paid off...since last Saturday I've lost 3lb and have FINALLY reached my first minigoal...it's been a long haul and I'm thinking I shouldn't have set it 45lb. away from my starting weight...but I figured 220 was a number I could be really proud of and feel like I'd acheived something by getting there.

I also went to my work Christmas party last night...arrived fashionably late due to my bf getting home from work late. Luckily, everyone had eaten by the time we got there (we at dinner beforehand anyway--I was insistent upon that. My boyfriend thought I was a little nutso.) and were slowly getting drunk. I resisted wine, beer, and margaritas (ooooh margaritas...drink of the gods) and actually just talked and hung out--had a really good time getting to know some people I don't get to talk to at work. So I am quite proud of myself!

Re: Cleaning it all up for Christmas

Great job joy and juli on the resistance in those parties. Each one will give you strength for the next one. Way to plan and stick with it girlies. Our big formal "Christmas event" is actually in January for a "New Year" party. We bring in a couple clients so its been found its easier to get them to find time in their schedules for a weekend after the holidays. So my temptation will come then because the place we go has this to die for gnocchi dish with shrimp that i have looked forward to since the first time i went to this. So it will help to have 6 weeks to steady myself so to speak and watch all of you have strength and get through it. I also have 6 weeks to lose more inches so i can get an awesome looking outfit that's not a grab and go fat outfit.

grins, so i hope you all don't mind if i watch and learn from you over the next 6 weeks.

Re: Cleaning it all up for Christmas

Julie, that's simply fantastic! Congratulations on your mini goal, AND for making it through the party. Your resolve is strong.

Sher, you go right ahead and watch us. I aim to give you inspiration. The temptations are strong through the holidays no matter how much or how little you do. It's on tv, radio, in the grocery stores, the malls, everywhere. So, if you make it through to your party, I'm sure your resolve will be just as strong. After you've had some more losses (and you will between now and then) you may just get your strength from wanting to protect and keep those losses.

Silly, I had a good weekend (though without internet access until just a bit ago). What's on everyone's plan for this week for sticking to the plan?

I purchased breakfast items and have them ready for this week. I'll be taking leftovers tomorrow for lunch since I have my last (boohoo) personal training session.

I plan on exercising every day this week.

I plan on drinking my water every day this week.

I plan on eating on rung 2 of OWL this week.

Re: Cleaning it all up for Christmas

Well I had a good weekend--went away to go out to dinner, out for drinks, shopping. For dinner I was very good--salad, steamed prawns w/butter, asparagus.

And I had decided since berries are NOT in season anywhere that I know of in December (I guess unless you're in Australia), I'm skipping that rung and now am on rung 5--alcohol. I will go back and introduce berries into my diet probably in a month or two.

So we went to this cool bar, and I had a whiskey and soda, one drink, and believe it or not, I woke up with a hangover! Even though I had been drinking water all day yesterday, had 5 glasses with dinner, AND had about 40oz when we got back to the hotel room, one measly drink gave me a hangover lol. I made sure to eat only 20 carbs today to make sure that alcohol was outta my system and I wasn't delaying my weight loss any more than I had to. I guess I learned I will stay away from liquor. I might try a glass of wine in a couple weeks, to see if it will be OK with Christmas.

Walked around a LOT today while shopping, so I'm ok with that--also it was my day of rest after a big workout session yesterday.

I am excited to go to Boot Camp tomorrow and burn some fat!

Way to go Silly , Juli, and VR

My day yesterday consisted of Christmas shopping. Ugh is all I can say. Stores are way too packed for my liking, but I got most of it done. My wondeful husband took us out to dinner last night. Chinese, I didn't see much that I could eat there. I seen alot of things that I was unsure of. Anywho, I had steamed veggies, thin steak pieces, and some lobster. I wanted green tea so bad, but I didn't order any. I had 42 oz. water down the hatch by 9 a.m. and drank well all day. Other than alot of walking, I got NO exercise yesterday.

                          Stats:
                          Amy
                          Female
                          Highest weight: 209 lbs.
                          Starting weight: 178 lbs.
                          Goal weight: 145 lbs.

                          Mini goal 1 : 170
                          Mini goal 2: 165
                          Mini goal 3: 155
                          Mini goal 4: 150

Hi everyone, glad to hear everyone is digging in their heels to get themselves situated and on track. Mom was up this weekend to finish her Christmas Shopping and getting stuff for her trip (clothes) such because she is leaving for Jamaica for a month next weekend, i am so proud of her as she has been working out like crazy for the last year or so and her body has changed so much so she has been having to get more clothes (YEAH MOM). So she and i hung out this weekend, and she keeps me on track pretty much so i have done well, however, the cool news is i won $640 at bingo yesterday... YEAH!!!! Christmas money!!! So that was an added bonus.

I will check in later, we are doing more shopping today before mom leaves, so you all take care and have a great day!
