Well, I pick at the pepperoni if my kids have pizza, but it is a weakness food for me, so I usually stay away unless I have made a low carb pizza of my own. Then I eat until I am satisfied. Usually more than one piece.

after almost 5 months on Atkins and over 63 lbs down! Watch for updates!

I'm on extended induction for a few weeks know and I'm looking for different ideas.
Lindsay, extended induction just means that you are following the rules of induction for longer than 2 weeks. But ALL the rules still apply. So, that means the almond flour and soy flour are No-Nos. Sorry. If you are looking for variety, you need to move into OWL as soon as possible and start adding foods back in the proper order.

Hey Lindsay, I left you a post on the previous page about where I have found those items.

You are doing well BTW! Doin it for your kids and yourself are some very good reasons!

I have a 15 month old son. So the baby thing is a reason I am also using. I wanna run after him in the park. And chase him down the slide. Be able to hold his bike when he is learning to ride it and keep up until he is ready for me to let go, not until I feel like I am dying from running behind him. LOL

                    hubby's girl...
Thanks so much for all the wonderful advice. I live in a very small town...pop. less than 500!!!! So items can be very difficult to find unless I go to Kansas City (1.5 hrs.) away! I 'thought' I was doing the extended induction for the most part...I guess not! I didn't realize all the rungs? I will definetly cut out the soy flour! I think that is the only thing that I am doing wrong...i think...lol!
I have also been using parm. cheese as a breading...REALLY REALLY good! Is that okay? How long did you stay on extended induction...I was also wondering....if I stay at 25 carbs a day but only add in a few things...to rung 3 is it (nut) would that be okay and give me similar results?
Thanks for all the advice. It is sooo nice to talk to others about this...I didn't realize how much having a support group mattered!
My twins are almost 21 months now...I feel like I have so much more energy to chase them...they can be so fast! But I couldn't ask for a better feeling to have them to chase!
                    Thanks again...sorry about the rambling!

CD, why not just move to OWL rung 1? That will put you at 25 carbs, you can have another serving of veggies each day, and after a week or two, move up to rung 2, dairy. It's recommended that you stay on each rung for 2 weeks or so, but you can go slower if you want to. It is SO SO SO beneficial to do the rungs properly in the correct order! Once you get to rung 6 (legumes) you can add in the soy flour. Until then, if you're at rung 3, you can use almond flour.

Parmesan cheese is an aged cheese, so yep, you can use it as a breading! It is SOOOOOOOO good on chicken (I am drooling right now thinking about it...)

OMG, I am ticked I just lost my post! So here goes round two of said post!

CD, yup parm cheese is great for breading, move up the rungs as Julie suggested. I also live in a small town about 1.25 hours away from a big city. And so many things are impossible to find. But soy flour and almond flour keep well in the fridge when you are ready to use these products. Keep going Lindsay. Read your book over and over, it will help you along the way to remember things. And as mom to two little people, and me being a mom to 3 kids, we are entitled to froget things once in a while due to sleep deprivation LOL. But practice makes perfect. I usually try to eat about 30-45 carbs a day. I won't go over 45, and most days are 30ish. But I don't stress over 40.

Hey Cher, I myself am an off the wagon jumper today. So much love to yah girl. Let's hop back on that wagon together, have a really satisfying menu plan for tomorrow and get back to the business of our goals shall we? *hugs cher and tells her it's ok, we are all human I am told......*

Sorry to keep you all waiting as I was prancing around in my panties all day! LOL

not acctually it is still far too cold to do that!

So here is the damage from this week. I think it is good.
