O.k., here are my start measurements and also my start weight is 227lbs. My goal is to loose 16lbs. And ladies, drum roll please, for those of you who have gotten to know me since I joined this board, you will realise how big a deal it is for me to post pictures. But I really believe that I need to be accountable and posting a photograph of myself stripped bare of any clothes which I use to hide my flab is really necessary.
So hear goes - 3 photos taken of me this evening, so all very current.

Julie, I don't want to be known as the ADBB chicken sh!t, so here I go:

I have a pic of me wearing a tight top and shorts but can't bring myself to post it yet. If I get really good results when it's over, I may post it.

I weigh 212 and wear a size 18 jeans and an XL top. I would like to lose 13lbs and be in Onderland.

                                Hi, Julie and friends

*Takes a deep breath* After careful consideration, I have decided to join you. After reading through all of the posts and seeing the terrific pics being posted, I just have such admiration and affection for all of you and I would be proud to be a part of this wonderful group.

If you don't mind, I would like to tell you about a few of the issues I have that kind of scared me about doing this challenge.

I have never before commited to any kind of challenge that involved a number of pounds as part of it. I have tried soooo hard this time around on Atkins not to get hung up on the number on the scale. And, I have done quite well so far on this. I have had weeks where I lost nothing, and I didn't let it get me down.

I have also tried very hard this time around to be patient with my weight loss and to look upon this as a lifestyle change and not a race. I have been moving up the rungs, and am currently in the process of increasing my net carbs every 2 weeks in 5 gram increments. This week, I have moved up to 45 net carbs and week after next I will move up to 50 if I am still losing. I plan on doing this until I stop losing. Upping carbs can be a scary thing... I don't want to sink into the thinking that since I am in a challenge for 2 months, that I should hold back on increasing carbs in hopes that that would make me lose faster. I want to stay with my plan and continue to search for my CCLL.

After thinking on these things all day today, I have decided that there is absolutely no reason why I can't continue to accomplish these two things and be in the challenge at the same time. Challenges can be a huge motivator... I can already feel the energy here just reading the posts so far. I need to get over my fear of failure, and this is a great opportunity to do that.

Julie, I will have my husband take my photos and measure me tommorow. My weight loss goal will be 8 pounds. Oh! I also wanted to ask you - about the link you gave to fittogether.com - I clicked on it but I don't understand what it is supposed to be. How do you use it?

Many thanks to all of you for hearing me out and for participating in this challenge. It's going to be awesome.
