Grapeseed oil is a lot like olive oil but it is a little lighter. It still has that green tint to it. According to the bottle of grapeseed oil, this is how it compares with olive oil

Polyunsaturated fat Grapeseed oil 9.50g Olive oil 1.5g
Omega 6 Grapeseed oil 9.47g Olive oil 1.07g
Vitamin E Grapeseed oil 3.92 mg Olive oil 1.61 mg

Plus, I know it is really good for your skin and I wanted to make some face cream from it.

Checking in this evening. I'm a bit cravy tonight, but not for sweet but salt/fat.

I use sea salt and not-iodized salt, so I don't have any problems with the "dex" stuff. I'm actually under doctor's orders to eat more salt because when I cut out soda and processed meats I actually got to a point of having extremely low blood pressure and the cardiologist told me (quote) "Eat more salt".

          Anyway. Another day sweetner free.

            Hello Challengers,
OUCH! Julie, that was difficult to put up the 2 x's on ya. Dog gone it! Stupid mayo!
Porcelain, I too enjoyed my diet coke. I had quite a relationship with it. Couldn't go a day without it kinda thing. It wasn't untill I found Atkins that I've been able to be completely off of it for almost 4 years. I know what you mean by admiring the red cans.
Mothercooter, Fluke or not, WHOOHOO! on the 2 pounds! I think you're right about them stalling you. Remember to journal all what is happening with your body throughout this month. Your body will be developing different patterns in your weightloss. So watch for them.
Liz, I'm so glad to hear your vacation was so nice! Kudos for going it alone Sweet Free. I was sure thinking about you and sending positive vibes your way. I can so relate to when you said how we associate good times with certain food rituals. This is where "Changing bad habits into healthy ones" comes in. I'm still learning to have healthier food rituals. I'm finding that there's healthier alternatives, with just as much fun associated with them. It's all an adjustment period in to our healthier lifestyles. Thanks for the mayo recipe.
ELSEY, I know how much you want this. I see you reaching for help. We're all here with a life line. Just grab ahold and don't let go. It's the sweetners that have you in the condition you're in. It is time to say good-bye to them. For at least a month- one day at a time. YOU CAN DO THIS!
We're all rooting for you Else!

I'm rooting for ALL OF YOU!
It's all going to come together for you as you go. You'll "get the bigger picture" so to speak. The first week is really important to stay on your toes and read lables. I can't stress that enough. I think the toughest for me was NO GUM. I was such a gum chewer. I changed to tooth picks. Chew the heck out of those babies.
Hang in there everyone. It really does get easier as you go. Remember, knowlege is power. The more you understand your body and how sweets effect it, the stronger you'll be able to say NO! Just like any addiction.
            Sincerely, Sherri

              Fantastic Joy!
I'll have that info on HFCS and liver function for you tomorrow. I'll also be posting information about Diabetes. Me being a Type 2 Diabetic. I've managed to reverse it and control it with Atkins. I've also reversed my High blood pressure and mine also tends to be on the low side now. I'm still careful with the sea salt though. I retain water easily.
              Great job Joy!

Yes, and it comes in the form of Dextrose. Look at the ingrediant on your salt and check it out.

This might sound really weird.....but, I've done some pretty weird stuff since being on Atkins....

BUT, i remember when I was a kid, my friend and I used to chew on her dental wax for her braces. Completely sugar/additive free! So, if you really need something to "chew" maybe give dental wax a try.

Sounds like you're good to go with your salt. Bummer about the Mrs. Dash though. They just gotta add that sugar to replace the salt with those I guess .

Now your Talk'en Porcelain. You just took me back over thirty years when we would soak our toothpicks in cinnaon oil as kids and keep our toothpicks in little glass bottles. I'll be getting me some of that. Great for my Ketosis breath too.

What? Dash has sugar in it?????? I picked it up today to read the label but my eyes are at that stage where when I've been on the computer too much they don't want to focus on reading... so I didn't. but I didn't eat any of it either.... something made me suspicious of it... ( not trusting anything anymore...) I am utterly appalled APPALLED at how much sugar is in EVERYTHING!

For dinner, I ate greek yogurt and blueberries and strawberries. They tasted sweet by themselves. I couldn't eat any of the soup I made because of the MINUTE trace amounts of sugar in the cubes of chicken broth which I search high and low to find without MSG in it.... (you have no idea the swear words I am thinking now....)
