Re: 2008 How Long Can You Go? "No Sweet" CHALLENGE
Hey what a coincidence! I am on Day 1 also.
My goal is to make the next 80+ days to January 1. This is the hardest part of the year.
So, I am drinking my coffee black which I like anyway.

Day 4 Sweetener Free
I'm gonna have a tough time getting to a computer, mine got infected with a trojan and some viruses. I'm using a computer at the Senior Adult Center. I've been busy and it's touch 'n go with my cousin who might be able to fix it so I won't have to pay a lot of money to get it removed.

Day 6 Sweetener Free
6/20
Today I have to make my Friendship Cake that I got from a friend from Small Group, then make some starter batter from the recipe I got from her for 4 friends this weekend. The first part of the Friendship Cake contains sugar, I had to wait 10 days before adding more flour, Stevia, etc to the first part. So the Cake will have a lot less sugar.
Then I bake it and make some starter batter to pass it on to 4 friends and have them eat some Cake, and make copies of the recipe and instructions to give them. It's called Amish Cinnamon Cake, you can't put the starter batter in the 'fridge. You put a cup of the batter in 4 1-gallon bags, then pass it on. Anyway, that's all I'm doing and I've substituted sugar for Stevia and flour for almond flour. So if you want a copy of this, let me know because I'm not really keeping this recipe. I was just doing it for my friend.
It's a good thing I'm not keeping the cake because it's going to be eaten by more than 4 people (12) and I don't want to bring any home. Thank goodness!

Good morning!
Splenda in coffee got me again. I'm on two days now and will try to stay with black coffee which I like anyway. The Splenda - and cream - in the coffee was making me slip more.
Lesson learned!
I am in the New Year challenge and plan to reach new goals. Now I know I can do it without the sweeteners. That's how I've progressed in the past.
Have a great weekend everyone!

Day 12 Sweetener Free
12/20
Made it so far!
I finally got my computer back and working excellente. My cuzin is good at removing trojans and viruses, me, no way! So now I'm going to be very cautious with exercise videos, especially from YouTube.com even if it has so many so-called wonderful stars. I know a couple of good ones and I'll just stick with them.
Re: 2008 How Long Can You Go? "No Sweet" CHALLENGE
I don't have Splenda, so unless I eat real sugar (aka BIG CHEAT) I should be able to go for 63 days. This means until Jan 2rd. Between Jan 2rd and Jan 10th I'll be in the US, so I don't promise anything... a low carb cheesecake from Cheesecake Factory might be too tempting. *** Day 1/63 ***

Re: 2008 How Long Can You Go? "No Sweet" CHALLENGE
Oh, well, this has gotten too hard to stay with no sweeteners during the holidays. So I'll come back after Christmas. I've been baking for this Small Group, that Small Group, family and church gatherings using Splenda (and having a taste here and there to see if it doesn't have too much sweetener).
I really love baking with Stevia, but it is too expensive to use for all these occasions/events, and friends/family are counting on me to make that special dessert for them without using the regular sugar. Occasionally I'll use organic raw sugar, never the bleached white sugar. So sorry for discouraging some of you, I don't want to do that. Please forgive me and I'll see you later. I will drop by here once in a while with some recipes, now that I have my computer back. I haven't forgotten and I do want to share them with you because I use them and eat them too (not all by myself, hahaha).
My computer is virus-free and trojan-free, too.
