      • FINALLY!

        I lost 11 lbs. this week. :yikes YES you read it right! I had to get on the scale TWICE, rub my eyes, then count on my fingers to make sure I wasn't hallucinating!

        This is the single biggest loss I have EVER had in my ENTIRE history of doing this diet. I am positively FLOORED to have had such a momentous kickoff, this being the end of my first week back on after a huge binge.

        So, I guess I'm back in the game. Wow. I'm ready. The key to my success I guess was to drink so much water, religiously and routinely. When I wanted Diet Rite, I had 2 20oz. bottles of water instead, *then* had the Diet Rite if I was still thirsty. Sometimes the 2 waters turned into 3. Every morning when I wake up, I have a 20 oz. bottle before leaving for work, then I have another one when I get to work. I am keeping the Diet Rites now as my 'treat' after lunch, and that's working out. I have water bottles laying around everywhere so I can just hop up and fill one or two when I'm thirsty. And lastly... I am a rather thirsty girl in that I can consume inhuman amounts of water in one go. :P I don't think the key to this is sipping casually throughout the day. I think the key is aquatic lavage! hehe

        I'm sure I won't drop 11 lbs. every week... but I feel like I'm back in the game finally. Whew. Thanks guys for your support, I couldn't have had the guts to start again without you and without this challenge (which strangely enough I started, hehe). I know every week won't be this way, but I'm glad because I needed this little confidence boost. I hope the rest of you that are waiting for the whoosh fairy will see her soon. Perhaps she's going to start making her way around the board now. :nod

        I'm going to dig up the jeans I retired last month and squeeze back into 'em!

          I am checking in a day early as I'll be away from the computer tomorrow. ****Down ONE pound this week to 223, Chrleeann. That's -2 for the challenge.

          Yes, I'd love to see a bigger drop, but heck, if I pick up a 1 pound weight and tell myself I have to carry it around ALL day and night, I feel like whining..."Awww, do I have to? It's just heavy enough to be annoying." SO....even one pound of fat that I can 'retire', is satisfying, in that respect.

            Great idea! After your post I picked up one of my 2 pound hand weights and carried it around a bit. Made me feel much better about my accomplishment! Thanks! :icondance

              • Somebody send me some good vibes tonight... my parents are in town, and they along with my aunt (the one that has cancer) and my uncle, who is a massive fan of Chinese food, are going out to eat at a Chinese buffet. Basically the one restaurant apart from soul cookin' that's nearly impossible to eat at on Atkins.

                Last time I was there I could not block out all the wonderful looking foods and all the fantastic smells... it was just way too much, and I fell off the wagon with a resounding thump. This time I just couldn't say no to going... I mean, it's my aunt, and my parents, this time is precious. I don't have enough time to run through Hardees for a burger or anything beforehand, either, so I guess I'll have some egg drop soup at the buffet (paying 7.99 for egg drop soup... sigh) and try and think happy thoughts, and get home and eat for real.

                Anybody have any suggestions about the buffet stuff? I know to avoid the syrupy-saucey-stuff, but, like, starch and sauce is a key ingredient for buffet! :anger I'm doing so well, too. Wish me luck... I need it. :help

                • The chinese buffet near my house has some options, not sure if your's is the same.. They have plain shrimp... the chicken that comes with the sweet and sour chicken doesn't have the sauce on it, and you can easily take the chicken out of the breaded exterior. They also have crab in the evening,. that dipped in the butter is really good!!

                  Goodluck, I'm sure you can find something delicious that's legal and won't leave you feeling deprived!!

                  • Alright, I am back from the Chinese buffet and although I know I went over my limit (my body can just tell anymore when there are carbs in it, hehe), I don't think I went over by much. I avoided all the sauces and such. I had crab legs with a little butter sauce (I think it's actually not butter, so I didn't have much), I had some spinach with some kind of baked cheese in it, I had crab meat with more baked cheese, mussels with even more baked cheese, and a few mushroom caps with some kind of flavored cream cheese filling with... you guessed it... baked cheese on top. Oh, and about 5 glasses of water.

                    I felt really full and kinda drowsy afterwards, which is my signal that I've had more carbs than I'm used to. Though probably not by much. And I just had an insanely brisk walk and feel a whole lot better anyway. Whew. Back to it!

                        • Hey you all! Just checking in! I have been off of the board for a few days! Things are busy as it is summer! Weight loss is still slow but creeping along! I am down to 188.5. That is a loss of another 1.5 for me!

                          We can meet the goals we have set for ourselves by September! Thanks for always being here for me and keeping me accountable! :hug

                          • By the figures posted above, we have collectively lost almost 80 lbs.. Great job everyone! We're doing fantastic! And for those of us who haven't lost, might be stalling, etc. - I feel your pain. There have been times in the past that I hadn't lost for weeks on end. That 11 lbs. loss for me last Sunday, though, was a reason not to lose hope. If you hang in there and keep at it, you'll make it.

                            Got my fingers crossed for my Sunday weigh-in... :ThumbsUp

                            • Actually it's 90lbs we lost bec I started off at 190 and lost 10lbs in one week. So if someone can post me as being 190 starting off that be great. I'm putting the scale back up uintil that Wednesday because i've become to scale happy. It can become addicting..lol. :icondance
