    Re: So whatya reading now

Just finished reading The Lovely Bones by "LOL" I forgot. Alice someone or another.

It was pretty good. About a 13 year old girl is is violently killed and she observes her family's ordeal dealing with her death from her perch in Heaven.

I have enjoyed Ann Rice's works as well as Stephen King. In recent years I think Mr. King has gotten really flaky and I've pretty much quit him.

I've also recently enjoyed a fictional/truth based novel about King Henry the VIII and one about Sacajawea.

I've read that one. It was okay for me, but I kept getting frustrated for her.

I read it also. It WAS way to depressing for me.

I'm on my library's waiting list for the newest Plum book "Eleven on Top".

I have a few cookbooks, I'm thumbing though too.
I know what you mean about the new H.P. book. It broke my heart. The 11 book of S.P. series is really good. I really liked this one. Being on this diet reminds me of Lula. When she was dieting and eating all that meat.
Reading Metro girl reminds me a lot of the S.P. series.

I am on my 6th day of induction and I am doing really good.I walk 3 miles a day. I do really miss PBJ sandwiches(especially since my husband just fixed one). I had to leave the room. I won't weigh untill Sun.
Well thanks again for the responses.

Well, not to change the subject but...I know Tom Clancy! His son was in my CCD class. He is weird. Every time I saw him he was wearing camoflage. I was growing my hair out, so I would pull the top part back into a pony tail. One day, he said to me " the color of your ponytail holder always matches the color of your shirt" My husband said it would probably show up in one of his novels one day.
I bought a big set of his books and asked him if he would sign them for me so I could give them to my husband for Christmas, he invited me over to his house. It was beautiful!

                    Re: So whatya reading now

I finished Metro Girl on Friday, returned it to the library yesterday and came home with more books.

I started reading "A Town Called Alice" by Nevil Shute yesterday. I also borrowed a Spanish cookbook (looks good because they're homecooking recipes from various regions of Spain---and many of them look low carb or low carb convertible!) and a book called "Summers at Castle Auburn".

                        A. N. Roqlaure ? Yes very uh---well different. Took those back to half price very quickly. No Mayfair witches to be found in those pages.

                          Re: So whatya reading now

I continually amaze my dad's gf (weekend mommy!! ) but we went to the bookstore two days ago....and I've finished all 9 books we bought.

I must say, I'm still upset Davinci Code isn't out in paper back yet and I had to break down and buy it in hardback (everyone that I know who read it borrowed it from someone else).

I think I'm no longer going to buy Elizabeth Peter's novels about Amelia..this is the second one that sucked, not to mention the binding is horrific. Fell apart as I read it, same as the previous 2.

Picked up something interesting about Cleopatria, kinda on the historical fiction side.

Currently reading Vince Flynns's Term Limits (the one where Marines take correcting the corrupt gov't into their own hands); Suzanne Brockman's Gone Too Far (So far pretty good, its about a SEAL who goes to finalize his devorce, but finds his soon-to-be-ex and his daughter gone, with his STBE's sister dead in the house); and Yeager (autobiography). I think I have a theme going here

Has anyone heard of Rich Dad, Poor Dad? I have no idea who wrote it, but I'm being "ordered" to read it. I know its something having to do with finances, possibly investments as well. A man apparently has two dad, one who was a "hard worker" but never became finacially stable, and the other who was a "slacker" who ended up being independently wealthy. I think that's the concept anyways. Good thing I have a long attention span and can wade through pretty much any book--I think this is going to be a doozer.

I'm glad you mentioned this series of books. I decided to check out the first book at the library - One for the Money. GREAT BOOK!! In about 2 weeks, I'm already on the seventh book. I have the seventh and eighth book checked out from the library and I'm guessing I'll have to go to the library on Monday to check out the remainder 3 books.

I just wanted to say THANKS!
