I watched a documentary once that speculates that the AIDS virus was originally spread through polio vaccines. It was based on a book titled, "The River: A Journey Back to the Source of HIV and AIDS." Polio vaccines were made from the kidneys of monkeys. One of the doctors, Dr. Hilary Koprowski, made his vaccine from the kidneys of a different type of monkey than the other doctors and his vaccine was tested in the Congo during the early 50's.
