I like how they call bell bottoms "flares"...and it looks like torn jeans are back in style. Been there done that!

Let me take you back even farther! When I was a kid they were called pedal pushers, I believe. Okay, we're talking like the early 60's here.

Hey and I've also seen where they now have "cut off trousers" for office attire (as a suit). To me they look like gauchos. Anyone remember those?

Changing topics...what about hairdos? I also had the "Stefanie Powers" layered haircut (and loved it).

I don't know about you, but it is sure hard to change styles when you get used to one. I've tried repeatedly to use my flatiron and straighten my hair, but I just don't like it as much...it is just not me.

I've looked up some hairstyles on "More" Magazine's website, but I still don't see one that I could fall in love with.

Well we would have to see what you look like in order to give you some suggestions. Got any pictures? Huh? Huh? Eh? Eh?

Re: Who were some of your favorite teen idols growing up?

If you go to my journal, I have a picture of me and my husband. My hair is in its transition period. I still hot rollered it, but tried to straighten it (and left some waves).

Now when I straighten it I put it up in a pony-tail for about an hour when it is just about dry (to give the roots height) and then take it down and use a flatiron to make it straight all around. My face is roundish and I need that height to lengthen it.

                      My journal link: http://www.atkinsdietbulletinboard.com/forums/showthread.php?p=194633#post194633

If you have ideas about hair (anyone), please post over in my journal...(giggle) that way it isn't part of our "teen idol" and "fashions of yesteryear" post.

                          Aw shucks! Thanks, Wanna...you're sweet.

Does anyone remember Aldo Nova? I had a boyfriend who liked his music and I always think of him when I hear that song "Fantasy".

No...but that reminds me of Fantasy Island....da plane! da plane! Speaking of hair do's I had the pony tail way on top of my head...but over to the side!!!! And later the whole "high hair" thing...Aqua Net loved me. Oh...and a hair crimper...gads...what was wrong with me? That's West Coast living I guess. And penny loafers...with the penny in them. I think they still sell those though.

Bug, you make me think of Suzanne Somers on "Three's Company" with the ponytail on the side!!

What about the group called RUSH and their song "Tom Sawyer" that was so popular?

Remember The Fixx and that song, "One Thing Leads to Another"? That was one of my workout songs back then.

Gosh, remember 45's and albums? Rotary dial phones? Eight-track tapes. Just think the kids nowadays have no idea what most of those things are.

My mom had a rotary dial "princess" phone. Man...I thought I was hot stuff when I used that phone! A few years ago the community phone book came out and it had a rotary dial phone on the cover and my oldest son asked "What's that?" Oh geez! We had a lot of 45's. My first music taste was the Beatles, Queen and a bunch of stuff I don't remember. Lol! We used to make them sing really fast sometimes for entertainment. When I was in grade school my best friend had a record player and we played the death out of Cyndi Laupers "Girls just wanna have fun." I used to record a lot of songs off the radio and would want to strangle the dj when they cut in too early.

Remember Billy Squire's "stroke me" he swears it wasn't about sex. Ummmm...kay.
