Man sues after using glue covered toilet!

BOULDER, Colo. (AP) - Home Depot was sued by a shopper who claims he got stuck to a restroom toilet seat because a prankster had smeared it with glue.

Bob Dougherty, 57, accused employees of ignoring his cries for help for about 15 minutes because they thought he was kidding.

"They left me there, going through all that stress," Dougherty told The (Boulder) Daily Camera. "They just let me rot."

The lawsuit, filed Friday, said Dougherty was recovering from heart bypass surgery and thought he was having a heart attack when he got stuck at the Louisville store on the day before Halloween 2003. A store employee who heard him calling for help informed the head clerk by radio, but the head clerk "believed it to be a hoax," the lawsuit said. Home Depot spokeswoman Kathryn Gallagher said she could not comment on pending litigation.

I local radio station put one of their staff on the side of the road, in rush hour traffic, glued to a toilet, because they were inspired by this story. I guess there was a big traffic backup because of it.

Uh, maybe it's a girl thing, but he just went in and sat down on a toilet that wasn't in his own home without looking?? Maybe it's just me, but I'm always checking for "water" droplets, unexplained smudgy things and footprints on the seat before I put my delicate bottom down.

talk about a sticky situation! He's actually lucky, it could have been worse - what if his dangley bits had hit the seat and they were stuck too

I saw this guy on the news the other morning...didn't know whether to laugh or cry for the guy. Really felt bad for him though.

I think they should glue the Home Depot people to the toilet seats.

I'm hearing more and more theories that he did it to himself--that its just a scam. He wants 3 million dollars for the humiliation he suffered, well, if he's so humiliated why does he keep doing interviews --he's making himself famous as 'the guy who's butt was glued to the toilet seat"!

I'm wondering what kind of glue it was, I mean super glue would be dry in like 30 seconds, by the time someone finished spreading it on the seat and walked out it would be pretty much dry already.
