I'm from Louisiana and we don't have ABC stores there. Liquor is sold at the grocery store or liquor stores. The first time I ever saw an ABC store was in North Carolina and thought it was odd. I guess it is a way for the government to get ALL the money.
My Mom went to England back in the 70's and thought it was odd that you had to ask for ice in your water. Ice is served with just about every cold beverage here.
And, I'm from the part of the country that calls a soft drink a "coke" no matter what flavor it is.
I worked with a girl who was from England and I liked to hear how she pronounced aluminum.
Then my older sister had a penpal from England. She went and visited them three times and then they came over and visted her in Ohio and she drove them down to Louisiana to meet us. It was a fun experience!

obviously its close to my heart as i have lived in both america and england!
someof my main points are
bisuits are not like scones, scones are disgusting and american biscuits are fab! it might be the same ingredients but they taste completely different as they are made differently....

"have a nice day" i just take as bein sarcastic and couldnt help but laugh everytime someone said it to me, it used to really irk my exboyfriend - who was from PA
My friend from America is comin out here to see me for the first time in May - im so excited that im gonna get to laugh at her all the time instead of her me lol!
