I'll keep this short...but I just gotta vent, and I need some advice too.
My friend called me to ask for my address, because she wanted to send an invitation to a party. So I'm thinking holiday party, you know, tis the season, and what not.
So I get this "invitation". It says, "You're cordially invited", blah blah blah, "food, fun, wine, etc", "bring a friend", blah blah, and in the bottom corner, in tiny letters, it says "personal checks and credit cards accepted".
It's a damn "Wine Tasting" c/o some random company similar to tupperware, or pampered chef (you know, MLM, pyramid type stuff).
I hate crap like this. Don't invite me over to buy stuff so you can get a prize, or credit toward buying stuff for yourself. So hubby's name is on the invite too, and he see's it and got really irritated. He's decided we have plans for the day, which I agree, I don't want to go to this dumb thing.
Now here is where I need advice, this friend is very pushy and nosy, and when she starts prying into my business, which is often, I have a hard time keeping my cool. I mean, my world is an open book, and I'll tell anyone anything about myself, but I hate when people are snoopy and nosy. I know when I rsvp that we aren't coming, it's gonna be 20 questions, and a guilt trip. I need some help figuring out what to say to her, without hurting her feelings, or being rude, because invites like these make me feel like being rude.
