Yes, all the pup are wonderful, what would we do without them?

a little ornery american eskimo here .
we rescued her from a pound last summer. she was dirty and fly bitten, a stray who had been wandering around in the country side. they said no one had been looking for her. when we first took her home she didn't want to come to us and she was having accidents in the house, still once in awhile unfortunately! But now finally she'll play with us and will come to us when we're standing up! before we'd have to be sitting before she'd go near us. I love her! my little fluff ball.....

            Re: Calling All Dog Lovers!

Here's our new little rescued baby:

Here she is making herself at home and taking a nap on our futon:

The first day we rescued her from the pound I was a little intimidated with her because she favored a small wolf (and I'm scared of most dogs anyway) and weighs 50 pounds. I'd get so nervous I had to go in the back room and tears would well up in my eyes. We got our first dog to help me get over my fear and it has helped some. Raising a dog from a puppy sure helps you not to be afraid of YOUR dog, but a new, adult dog is a little different. Anyway, she turned out to be a little sweety and I can't imagine being so afraid in the beginning. We've had her for a month now.

We thought she also looked like an American Indian Dog (besides looking like she had Siberian Husky and German Shepherd in her). So, we tried to come up with something that sounded Indian and have decided on Dakota and "Kota" for short.

We love her already! The next time we want a dog, we'd like to get another one just like her!!

Here's my Golden Retriever, Andy. What a great family dog! Not the brightest, OK? And lots of hair on these dogs. But he has been great with all the kids throughout the years! Very loving, happy dog, and he loves his coconuts from the tree!

This is Marco. We lost him in October. He was the sweetest, gentlest Dalmation I have ever seen. He was 14 yrs old and we had him since he was 6 months old. I miss you Marco!!

                            Re: Calling All Dog Lovers!

Does anyone here have a dog that stays inside? If so, I wanted to ask a question about how many times you have to let them out to use the bathroom. Our new dog can use the bathroom and 20 minutes later she has to go again. I'm wondering if she could possibly have a bladder infection or is this normal to go so often?

The first week we got her we tried to keep her inside because she seemed to do fine. Then once she had an accident it seems that she has to go more often than before. Matt set the alarm and got up through the night and took her outside every two hours and it worked well until one night she came and barked at our bedroom door. Matt got up and she was waiting for him (thinking maybe she had to use the bathroom after just going 30 minutes before), but she had already gone in the living room.

                            What do you think?

Okay, I finally got some adult pictures of Shadow, who is our first baby. Here they are. (We are finally playing with our Webcam after all these years.)

Shadow is part Great Pyrenees and Border Collie. (He's the black one.) Dakota "Kota" is part Siberian Husky and German Shepherd (we think). We got Shadow as a puppy from our neighbors and Kota from the local animal shelter.

Oddly, they are exactly the same age and same height. Shadow weighs 80 pounds and Kota 55 pounds. They play constantly. It is nice having a little buddy for Shadow.
