Well I have had my fun since returning home from Training in late February. Not only did our washing machine start to leak needing to be replaced, but the very next day after it was put in place. A pipe under the kitchen sink in the next room let go. It took about 5-10 minutes to recognize what had happened and run down stairs to shut the water off. (It had come apart immediately before the shut off valve.) Well, the hardwood floors (what builder puts hardwood floors in a kitchen) were ruined in the kitchen and the living room. Insurance has been great, but the contractor has not. We have been living with exposed underlayment in our kitchen and dining room for 2 weeks now.
Also on top of everything else, insurance paid for ServiceMaster to bring over some fans to dry up the flooring. The fans tripped the breaker, which sent my old computer over into its final grave. OS beyond repair, flaky hardware, time for a new computer. Luckily the new computer is paid for entirely by tax money, which turned out much better than originally expected.
Sometimes normality is just a dream anymore.
