today was a horrible day. his cat george was attacked and died on the way to the vet. what makes it even worse, ralphy did it.
ralphy was in the back yard when my husbands workers came for the work truck. george showed up and sat by the window where he always sits and waits to be let into the house. the worker walked up to get the ladder, which wasn't far from where george was sitting - george got scared, popped up into the air and over the fence. george took off, ralphy after and I was screaming. I got to the other side of the house as fast as I could, but it was too late. ralphy had already bitten george. I freaked out, cursing at ralphy to get away, screaming for george (the only good thing is that my son was not home to see all this), I pulled the phone out of my pocket to call the vet, yelled at the workers to go in the basement and get the cat kennel, all the while cursing and crying, I told the vet my cat was attacked and I was bringing him in to be ready....the worker couldn't find the kennel I went as fast as I could to the basement (somehow I had put ralphy in the house - I don't remember doing it, but he was in the house) and got the kennel - I couldn't bend down to get george (my back has been hurting for 5 days and I have been eating advil), the worker put him in the kennel and carried it to the car, I drove like a bat out of h*ll to the vet, I cried and cursed and prayed the whole way - its just outside of the valley - the vet ran out to meet us and rushed george inside, but it was too late he died on the way. my poor little kitty.
I came home, after saying goodbye to george and taking his paw prints and some fur and whiskers - I am having him cremated.
I went home and cleaned up.
Then I picked up Chase.
The hardest thing I have ever done is tell Chase what happened. He is angry and crying. And there is not a dang thing I can do to take the pain away.
Please pray for Chase. For George. For all of us.
Thank you.

I knew he needed me, and I needed him. Perhaps something like that may help. I know it helped me to cope, but everyone is different.
