Well, yes, if we used perfection diction it would also be notchor. You have to say it with kind of a rapper accent, i.e. "yo yo man, yo that not yo cheese man" lol Sorry if I offended anyone with my bad rapper accent.

I know that with my grandparents generation (they all came over from Italy), the first son's first name would be that of the baby's paternal grandfather and the first daughter would be named for the baby's paternal grandmother.

On my maternal grandfather's side, (his father's name was Giuseppe(SP?) and his mother's name was Maria), I have alot of cousins with the names of Joseph and Mary. My aunt (my mother's older sister) is named Marie.

My paternal grandfather's name was also, named Giuseppe(SP?), ergo, my father (who was the first born) is named Joseph.

Lol. I remember this confusing a lot of Brits when I was working for a British company here.

Most parents give their children nicknames that are derivatives of their first names, such as...

Roberto - Robbie or Bobby or Bob
        Christina - Khris or Tina
John Paul - J.P. or Jaypee

In a few instances, one's family given nickname may not have anything to do with one's name. For example, if you're the only boy or girl in the familly, you might be named "Boy" or "Junior" or "Jun" if you're the only boy, or "Girlie" or "Baby" if you're the only girl. I have a cousin with the nickname "Baby" and she has two grandchildren. "Grandma Baby", LOL.

I went to school with a set of Philipino twins (boys) who were called by nicknames, as they're name. they were called Bing-Bing and Bang-Bang. No i dea what they're real names were.
