1. People who cannot drive. That double yellow line is there for a reason!

2. Teenagers who cannot drive. If you want to make a turn you get into that lane, you don't line up beside me to try to make the turn before me!

3. All people who cannot drive. The speed limit is 35. I'm going 45. So why are you tailgating me???? Back off! And if you want to pass me---go ahead, just don't merge into my lane, 4 feet in front of me, while breaking for the traffic light!

4. People who butt in line. The line begins behind the last person in it, not behind the second person in line.

5. People who let their small children run wild in public places. Okay, I do not like small children crashing into me at grocery stores, malls, parks, museums, etc. I don't like having small children hitting me because I happen to be leaning against the rail they are hitting. I don't like small children kicking the back of my chair in movie theaters. If you bring them out in public places it's your responsibility to see they behave properly.

6. People who curse at their children. (This really gets to me) To hear a parent call their child a "B" or a "M-Fer" is really, really, really sad.

Back to the hand washing - People who use the restrooms and do NOT wash their hands. They come out of the stall smile at you and walk out the door. It is disgusting!!

This thread is so great - I thought I was the only one with so many pet peeves!!

Oh yeah another one - Co-workers who will not change their way of doing things to get with the times. Their answer is "it's always been done this way" or "never was before" Well, the times have changed since you began 20 YEARS ago..... Whew!

I just came back from taking my boys out to lunch today. They asked to go to the all-you-can-eat buffet at Golden Corrall, or as my husband and I like to call it, "The Trough".
Well, now I need to add another peeve of mine. (I wish that I wasn't so neurotic about things, but I really can't help it.) Why do people pile pounds of food on their plates only to have the waitress take it away to bring more empty plates for them to fill again? This burns me up so bad that I want to stop people on their way back to the buffet and remind them that they left enough at their table to feed a family of four. Grrrrrrrrrrrrrr!!!!!!!!!

1. dirty fingernails 2. persons who continually say "like" as in, it was like, like you know,
3. persons who criticize you for speaking intelligently (is it a crime to have an intelligent conversations using words that are beyond a 5th grade vocabulary list.
4. snapping gum
5. persons who used the chirp function on their cell phones in public places. I dislike hearing the chirp, and the two way conversation.
6. cell phones going off in theaters, quiet places (especially Church)

Darn my list is long.. maybe I'm irritating.

I have one about the losing weight - my best friend and i lost touch after i moved away - then about 6 months after leaving i came back to see her and her used to be size 24 was now a 10 and i aked HOW THE ****?!?!?! and she says....i stopped chewing gum. rofl....where do people get these stupid ideas that no one else has a brain?

People who drive slow no matter what the speed limit is
people who drive right beside another car going 5 in a 65 zone
people who FIRST dont use there turning signals and then dont even break far enough back so that they dont turn there car on two wheels, they just get to the road and then dukes of hazzard it...
parents who let there kids stand in the middle of the aisles so you cant get around even after saying excuse me ten times, then the parent looks at you like you should have went another way.
pushing around a kid that is screaming at the top of its lungs and you cant hear it!!!!
having a HUGE sign at work saying "you must show your insurance card at every visit" and then you ask for it and they say "i showed it to you last time - you need it again?" and give you this tone like your stupid.

people who treat you like your below them, no matter what the topic.
when people act like there is no one behind them in walmart and go sooooo slow and wont let you walk by them.
parents who beat there kids in public

i could go on and on forever....especially on a day like this.

stupid people. seriously, they make me crazy.
I had this friend , wonderful girl - kind, caring, lots of fun to hang with but oh my stars did she have some serious stupid moments.

boogers. I can't stop the gag reflex when there is a little kid with a great big blob of gooey (gag) slimey snot hanging from their nose and then, omg they snif it back up, only to have it run right back out.
I was on line in the grocery store once and I took a clean tissue and went to hand it to the lady in front of me whose kid was all snotty - she looked at it and said I don't need that - I said you have a choice, take this or something and wipe your kids nose or I will vomit on you. Yes she wiped the kids nose and several people thanked me.

Sometimes things roll by me unnoticed and other time I am Peevy Peeverson herself!

Bad drivers have to drive me the battiest. Slow drivers, people living out their Nascar fantasies, people zigzagging thru traffic, those imbeciles who wait to pull out in front of you at close range on a two lane road and then drive 10 miles under the speed limit, people so busy doing everything but paying attention they swerve all over the place, people changing lanes without looking .........if I didn't drive I wouldn't hardly cuss at all. I had to make up new cuss words for when the kids are in the car.

People who hock up a lung or snarf their nose entities around on their hands at a buffet. GROSS! I saw a woman stick her hand down the back of her pants to scratch once and then she tested the temp of the soup with the same hand!

People whose big night out in the small town we've moved to consists of dinner at Cracker Barrel or Frisch's and then going over to Walmart to see who can cut the stinkiest cheese.

Rude people who don't teach their rude spawn any semblance of manners or courtesy.

Grown women who, according to the restrooms in my office building need, A. Remedial potty training. B. Hygiene reform on a 911 basis.

Forgetting the dog had a trip to the vet before the kidlets get in the backseat wearing dark clothes and getting golden fur all over them.

My latest pet peeve is people who don't walk correctly or use sidewalk etiquette. I know, sounds strange. Bear with me. I've been walking at lunch lately. In a fairly busy metropolitan area. With all various sorts of morons who walk 2 or 3 abreast, taking up the entire sidewalk, with no consideration for the folks walking in the opposite direction. No moving. No courtesy. Just loads of entitlement and "move around me because I'm so special" attitude. Grrrrrrrr.

Just as an example, last night on my walk home from work, I was yelled by an older man because I was walking on the left side of the sidewalk. I turned around and pointed to the 3 elderly women who I had just passed (on the grass, because they sure as heck weren't moving to accomodate me - but they were really quite old, so I wasn't too mad), and was just getting back on the sidewalk. He went on and on about how I must have learned in first grade that you HAVE to walk on the right side of the sidewalk. Wow. The world is getting crazier by the second, and it all seems to be happening on the sidewalks of Santa Monica!

Whew. Thanks. I feel better getting that nonsense off my chest!

Trolls. I was going to say that I hate them with a passion but passion should be used for good and not evil. Besides, trolls are not worthy of any emotion other than disdain. Is disdain an emotion?

Had to bump this because somehow I missed it. And this morning I had to deal with three of my biggest pet peeves.

People who drive the wrong direction down the ONE-WAY lanes in the supermarket parking lots. And then they give you dirty looks when YOU are the one trying to get out of THEIR way.

An elevator door opens and the person has to shove their way into the elevator before you can even get out. It would be sooooo much easier for them to stand to the side, let you exit and then they can step in and be on their merry way. But no... they have to try to get in the same space you're still occupying in the elevator doorway.

The co-worker who sits right outside my office door and has to talk with her mouth full. And it's always so full you can only understand about every 4th word she says.

Ok... I'm done for now but I'm sure I'll think of some more!
