  • Knitting Frenzy Due to Atkins...

Well, Atkins didn't really force me into knitting...it was those other people in Journal Chats (you know who you are ) who forced me into thinking I needed to pick up a hobby. And, well, I repicked up one that kept me from chowing down over the long American Labor Day holiday. I did watch a boring/wild movie called, "Bob Roberts" while knitting over night on Saturday. Thank God for knitting...I would have fallen asleep!

So, here ya go. Be bored. Go forth and prosper. Find a hobby of your own.

Far left: Navy Blue (mine), Middle: Hot Pink Fuzz (Katy's), Far Right: Muddy Fun (Mine)...I made one for Sarah her's is a "sunkist" scarf but I forgot to nab it from her closet. Next time

Here you can see just how long the scarfs are. Katy's hot pink is just her size...

Since homework is a big production around this joint, Katy kept busy by fiddling around in the garage and doing something to keep herself occupied while I worked with Sarah...it was really too quiet. Then she came in with a great big grin on her face and showed me this....She's calls it a "bird feeder". Sure!

She's so much like her daddy sometimes. The little stinker went through hubby's stuff and found some use for a few items "just laying around". I couldn't help but giggle and give her loads of praise for thinking so smartly. What else could a proud mamma do? It didn't stop there....

She soon came back in with a screw and a screw driver.

Me: "What are you tearing apart?"
Katy: "Who? Me? I'm not tearing anything apart"....<<bats big brown eyes>>
Me: "Then what are you putting together?"
Katy: "I'm not putting anything together"...<<big cheesy grin>>
    Me: "Hand over the tools..."
Katy: *sigh* <<reluctently hands over the tools and starts ripping out of the house like her shoes were on fire>>

    Yep. That's our girl.

I'm also thinking...wait until her daddy comes home! LOL....

"It's that time of year..."....LOL...got that Christmas song in my head now.

Baby blankets look scary to me! Just learning how to "tie off" has been a challenge. LOL. Now you know why I stick to scarfs...they're easy.

Miss World~ I learned to crochet before I learned to knitt...I think crocheting is easier because there's only one needle to deal with. But then again, once I learned how to work 2 needles to make scarfs I got hooked, and into OCD of trying to make them perfect. Which brings me to getting frustrated, taking them apart, sticking them in the closet until someone else shows their wonderful creations and then I'm hooked again (pun intended). LOL. Really...if you can sew with a needle by hand, I think you can work knitting needles too.

You go girl, Stacy! Christmas presents...Oye! I thought about making some for Christmas and then realized that's about as far as I think I'll take it...just thinking about doing it with school coming up. Fuzzy blue! Oohhh...that sounds cute! It'd match your eyes

Lala, as far as I can tell, that's crochet.

Now Lisa...You're gonna have to hook me up with these knitting people...I LOVE to knit!

I'm currently working on two cardigans, a headband, a crocheted afghan and I'm entering the fair this year with a few different things.

I know a ton of great knitting sites if anyone's interested!

It's such a great was for me to relax. I taught myself with a few books and crap lopad of websites. I'm slopw, but decent I think. I go to www.craftster.org for inspiration sometimes. I follow patterns here and there but I like finding an idea and making it my own.
