          Re: Ebay purchases??

I have to admit, I don't buy much off there. I'd rather buy new from a shop. Or Amazon.com lol.

But I get things off eBay that I can't get anywhere else - i got some tshirts from Hot Topic off there, because their own website won't ship to the UK, I buy concerts tickets for sold out shows on there, and I buy stuff for my sister off there (rock n roll merch mainly)

I browse a lot, but I rarely buy or bid.

              Re: Ebay purchases??

We've bought quite a bit of stuff on Ebay over the years although not so much lately. Our best buy was an ATC for $51! (three wheeled dirtbike thing) We also bought all the misc parts for it, mitre saws and specialty nail guns for DH's work, some trinklets for around the house.

The biggest things we've sold on Ebay were an odyssey (high powered go-cart) and a 57 Chevy. I sold crafty things and jewellry for a while but it ended up being more hassle than it was worth and the fees just kept getting higher and higher.

                Re: Ebay purchases??

Well, I used to do it in my spare time, then I started selling more and more till it got to a stage where it wasn't worth my time going to work any more, I'd make more money Ebaying in that time. So, with a deep breath and crossed fingers, June last year I quit and I've never looked back, best thing I ever did.
I'm a very lucky boy and I appreciate it.
Have just noticed that in my pic below, you can see my old table covered in thousands of sheets of stamps. I've never been able to clear that table LOL

                    Re: Ebay purchases??

I want to know, too. PH, what do you sell?

I've gotten several great deals over the years since Ebay started. It's getting harder to find the super-bargains now amidst the clutter of mass-listed duplicates, with S&H's that drive up the cost beyond what you can get the same for locally; but for hard to find, far-away and rare finds, it can't be beat! Also, the convenience of doing gift-giving is well worth Ebay shopping. I always check out a given item from other websites with a search engine first, plus check seller ratings and other info before buying, though. Some products are garbage that's hyped up, and if you only look at a listing you may get something bad you can't get a refund on.
I've sold before, but just don't have time lately. It's great for emergency cash, as something you might get $1 for at your yardsale if 100 people look at it, may fetch $10 with a million people looking at it, 10 of whom want it.

                      Re: Ebay purchases??

My main items are coins, banknotes, stamps and dvd's. all connected subject wise.
Also, anything that catches my eye and that I can make an outrageous profit on.
It's always good to do something that you are interested in or know about, preferably both.
Am always looking for new areas to branch in to.
Everything and anything will sell on ebay.
Now, for DVD's, cd's etc...I buy them on ebay, watch or listen to them, then sell em again.

Gosh, is this ever true! It disgusts me how greedy some Ebay sellers are. I have seen $15-20 s and h for small items. Some of these punks just want to make sure they are going to get a profit, which I suppose I can understand, but I have seen them have a really high starting bid PLUS the ridiculously high S and H. That's so dumb, really, since the item rarely sells, so where is the profit they are trying to earn?

Me and my friend always make sure we charge the correct postage when selling things, we find you get more people looking at your items as they know you're not in it to hike up the cost by inflating the postage costs - I've even refunded people before now if I've estimated a bit too much for postage - I guess thats why I'm still 100% positive feedback!!!
