hey griz, I went through withdrawal for two days--so busy, I only got to post in 3 threads!

Hey I can stop any time I want to. I just don't want to.

Re: Grizzly's Addiction to ADBB Chats

Prayers are with Kelly Jame's family on his death on Mt. Hood. Also, for the remaining 2 hikers not found yet. Grizzly was on Mt. Hood in '85. Not at summit but, it is an impressive mountain. Cannot even imagine tackling it in the winter.

For the ADBB addiction, had to work this weekend, didn't check in. Found myself checking this before my work website's e-mails. Now that is pretty bad but, the weight is slowllllllyyyy coming off. Finding myself not quite so grumpy. Maybe it's CHRISTMAS TIME or maybe I'm getting a little of that self confidence back. Boy, I had gone down hill.

Grizzly surfing the threads not out of addiction but, out of controlled environment surveying of quality of the posting that you are reading. (Yea right)

I am so pleased to see that all of our Thread Surfers are cured. It would really bother me posting in this and knowing that some of you had an addiction to reading these. Now Ol' Grizzly is going to start 2007 with a Bang of a Thread.

It will be about some of the people that I have ready their Threads. Never will I indulge who they are but, your job will be to see where I found a small quote, sentence, etc.

              Looking forward to it. Grizzly

Re: Grizzly's Addiction to ADBB Chats

Talked to my therapist, again. Beer Breathe, my hunting partner!! He says that going into my computer world is my privacy of spilling my guts out to those people in there and not having to face them with actual everyday problems. On ADBB you can be selective of what you talk about, there are no bill collectors, yelling kids, wife complimenting you on everything you do, etc. In there you are in a world, hunting for people with the same interest as you, to lose weight. But, you have to quit announcing to all your buddies, I'M ON A DIET!!!!!!!!!!! It is very annoying>

Boy does Beer Breathe have a way with words. Grizzly Out!!!

Re: Grizzly's Addiction to ADBB Chats

O.K. Now I'm working on keeping my diet quiet. During Holidays we went to 2 different houses and people would say, "Grizzly" we made that for you because we know you are on a diet. It was meatballs in BBQ sauce with grape jelly added to sauce. "HELLO!!"" I know they are trying but, now I think I'll keep it quiet and just eat what I know I can eat. Usually there are always veggie tray somewhere or cheese. I don't think I'll starve until I get home.

So addiction to cure now is not announcing to the world that, "Grizzly is on a diet"

Re: Grizzly's Addiction to ADBB Chats

Grizzly I know what you mean! I've had friends make something "special" for me because I'm on Atkins, and they don't understand the stuff, so they'll make like, a meat dish covered in gravy, or something in BBQ sauce...my head spins to think of all the sugar and flour. I did have one friend who specifically asked each food I could eat...she told me the menu and I approved because all ingredients and preparations were legal. I thought that was incredibly thoughtful!

I am not cured of my addiction to ADBB chats, but really, I think that's one thing that really keeps me accountable...hanging around here, getting inspired, learning new things. It seems that the folks who disappear for awhile have problems staying on track...and I don't want to risk that happening, which is why I spend 23.9999 hours a day on here.

Same problem with being afraid of falling off the diet if i DON'T COME TO the ADBB. Feel weird sometimes because not many men are here. But, ol' griz is not worried. If this helps me lose this weight, so be it. Thanks for everyones support and for letting me put a little humor in our diet rollercoaster ride. I am serious about the diet and ADBB.

Keep in touch everyone, stay cheatfree, exercise and share your experience. The Griz.

Re: Grizzly's Addiction to ADBB Chats

Hello - My name is Stella and I'm addicted to the ADBB.

I log on before my shower, after my shower, at work, first thing when I get home, after dinner and again before bed.

At least my DH is on a computer right next to me. (always looking for car parts!) Maybe I can consider it bonding time! I'm always dragging him over here showing him before and afters. Anway, there is just nowhere in my "real life" to get this kind of support!

Seriously, if I didn't have this site, I would NOT have been able to stick to this WOE. You guys are the best!

                        (O.K., I'll sit down now)

Ol' Griz has tried the 99.999999% women weight watchers meetings. Didn't work, just wanted to talk about BLT bite, lick and taste. Sounded funky to me but, whatever. Yes, I agree, by having this site, I can share my ups and downs of dieting plus, you feel accountable. Once you have put a before picture for people to see, it is like "I can't let them down, I can do this!!!"' Keep hanging in there and I feel it is great your DH supports you.

                          Ol' Grizzly gonna stay cheatfree!!!!

O.K. women do not understand how hard it is for a big 6'2" Blue eyed burly man who goes by the name of "GRIZZLY" to talk about losing weight. Men just don't think about it. Look, HUNGRY MAN DINNER, LUMBERJACK's, BIG FOOTBALL PLAYERS, etc. We are not suppose to have emotions, discuss what is really going on in our brain about losing weight and such. We are not suppose to go to groups and discuss this stuff.

BUT, here we can. I don't understand it but, HEY it works. Grizzly

I know what you mean about men being burly, tough, big...but then again, it also brings up the stereotype that women are SUPPOSED to be as skinny as a piece of notebook paper. Opposite ends of the spectrum, and both are impossible to live up to!

Even when I was "skinny" as a child, I wasn't skinny! I was very healthy looking. I was thinner, yes, but I had that cute little belly that kids have.

As an adult, I've never been what I consider "skinny" even at my lowest weight. I'd rather be called healthy, curvy, athletic, womanly.

Regardless, Griz, I think it's great you're on here talking honestly about getting healthier! I think it is something more men should do.

Came here almost four years ago. WOW, that just dawned on me. I had been obese my entire life........did every diet know to mankind. Signed up here, started Atkins and truly believe the support and the people are the only reason I am where I am today.
Case closed. I will ALWAYS be here.
Hubby........ he is the best. Knows I am a success due to this place. He is not a computer person but knows you all! lol lol lol. New pictures posted, I call him and he comes and looks. At first he thought I was nuts, but now he "gets" it. Kids.............guess what! My son has now lost 125 pounds! So, it is a good thing.
