I just finished it this morning whilst I was eating my breakfast - it is such a sad book!
I bought it because I thought it might be a good encouraging weightloss story (like the William Leith one sort of was) but it's not. It's about a woman's lifelong battle with her weight which was very obviously caused by a very troubled childhood and parents who just seemed incapable of loving her. It was also very hard to read about how other children bullied and judged her because of her size and the way she was always lonely.
Anyway I wouldn't strictly recommend it as such, but is was a revealing insight. I get the feeling the author (Judith Moore) may be well known in the US - is that right? Has anyone read this or 'Never Eat Your Heart Out?' which she also wrote - which I haven't read. If so, what did you think?
