How to get past the scouts (whether girls with cookies or boys with popcorn)

On the way in, say you're out of cash you'll get cash back from your card while you're in the store. Then on the way out, say you forgot.

Say your husband/wife is in the store and will get some when done shopping.

Say your daughter/son is also selling them.

Say you bought some already. (don't mention it was 3 years ago; this is still an honest approach.)

Hand them some change, say you don't have enough right now but will be back later.

Point to hydrogenated on the label and say you're allergic

Start crying, say you wish you could but... (tell them in detail about what happens when you have anaphalactic shock)

I think I have heard all of these excuses while standing outside Walmart, Sam's, Home Depot, etc. selling girlscout cookies.

Count me as one of the Girl Scout cookie bregade haters.

They've already set up shop at the local stores in our area and constantly hound innocent victims trying to pass by to get into the store.

I've learned to steer my buggy away from the kids (afraid it might acciently run one of them over) and make sure I just say, "No thank you." I never give reasons, excuses, or anything else because the longer I talk to them, the more they get their hopes up and the less money I have to spend on vacation this summer.

Sorry Girl Scout Cookie hounds...my money's going on vacation, not dontating to your cause of getting a badge to see who earns the most money.

My DH and I are betting to see how long it takes for these little cookie hounds to start saying, "Will that be on your (Girl/Boy) Scout Visa/Master card today?".

Or better yet, when the Atkins company that makes faux food decides to hook up with this evil cookie/popcorn pushing group to make "Low Carb" cookies.

And not to sound totally heartless towards these seemingly wonderful organizations that force young children to learn how to sell cookies in order to make a company more profitable, if you feel like donating money go ahead and do so; just don't take the cookies.
