Thought I'd start this, I was watching one of my all time favorite movies last night, and thought I'd ask.....what is your favorite movies, and why.

Sleepless In Seattle - Chic flic, but I watch it no matter what, cable or regular TV. It's just a great movie. I've been in New York on Valentine's day, and nothing is more romantic. I believe in love at first sight (I'm a hopeless romantic) My wife and I met at a Halloween Party, and married 45 days later. We've been married 21 years, go figure! HaHa! Tom Hanks and Meg Ryan we're just awesome in this movie. One of my top 10 so to speak.

    What's your's?

      Re: Movies.....

My favourite film of all time has to be Pulp Fiction. For me it has everything and each time I watch it I notice something different. I love the fact that it has a number of stories in one and how they tie up together, but above all I find the sound track exceptionally motivating.

My other favourite is the Shaw Shank Redemption.

My Favourite comedy is The Life of Brian.

Yeah Pulp Fiction is one of my definate top 10's too. Same thing, flipping around late at night, sweet.......... 'Royale With Cheese' and you are correct, the soundtrack is exceptional. Quentin Tarrantino has a good ear when it comes to music, all of his movies use exceptional music. Not your everyday boring stuff either!!

(Sandy - when I was in the Army - years ago - we'd all sit around the barracks watching that stupid Grease movie....haha! All these guys in fatigues, drinking beer, singing along with John Travolta and Olivia Newton John....---closet musical lovers, we're the best haha!!)

Richt - Are you a really big Monty Python fan? I love those guys....I was only 8 - 9 years old and my dad said we were going to have a treat and stay up late on a Friday night. It was 'Holy Grail', to this day, I love watching that movie. I have fond memories of the Marty Feldman Show, and Monty Python....classic stuff, thanks for bringing it up - MP always puts a smile on your face, ya know. 'We've come to praise Hommage, ....Hommage, you're all drunk, get out......, but we have gifts, Frankensense, Myrrh....why didn't you say so, come on in.....................'

        classic!

          Scooter -

I am a HUGE Monty Python fan and can quote them for hours and hours. The holy grail and the life of Brian have so many classic lines to them. Monty Python and Black Adder are two reasons why I am proud to be a Brit.

Sing a long with me -

          Brave sir robin ran away
          Bravely ran away away
When danger reared its ugly head
Brave sir robin turned away and fled
Brave, Brave, Brave Brave Brave Brave Brave Sir Robin!

            Hi Scooter, good thread

It is so sweet you got married 45 days after you met your wife! I love that kind of story! Me, I've been waiting seven years

My favourite films are: Escape from Alcatraz, The Shawshank Redemption (must have been a prisoner in a past life!) I love Amelie and quirky French films. For comedy I like The Big Lebowski, Office Space and I really liked Talladega Nights. Also big weepies like Steel Magnolias and Fried Green Tomatos are fab too. Anything with plucky female characters overcoming the odds like Educating Rita

I really like 28 Days Later and What Lies Beneath because they are great examples of their genres, though not my usual cup of tea.

            I could go on forever!

As for Monthy Python I prefer The Meaning of Life and when I first saw it I told my friend I was going to watch it every day! Haha! How nerdy am I? Suffice to say I don't watch it every day - I don't even have a copy at the mo.

'Just one more......it's wafer thin........' lol. So gross, yet so funny......

Barb - nice selections....this is pretty cool!! Office Space - I feel so bad for the people who work at TGIF here in the states, they actually have to wear all that 'flare'. Yeah, I'm gonna need you to work on Saturday, and uh, oh yes, why don't you plan on Sunday, yeah......TPS reports!! haha!

Richt - Brave Sir Robin - what a classic song!!! Eric Idle is the best!!!

                  Re: Movies.....

LOL Scooter, look what I just found -

Bravely bold Sir Robin rode forth from Camelot
He was not afraid to die, O brave Sir Robin
He was not at all afraid to be killed in nasty ways
Brave, brave, brave, brave Sir Robin

He was not in the least bit scared to be mashed into a pulp
Or to have his eyes gouged out and his elbows broken
To have his kneecaps split and his body burned away
And his limbs all hacked and mangled, brave Sir Robin

His head smashed in and his heart cut out
And his liver removed and his bowels unplugged
And his nostrils raped and his bottom burnt off
                  And his penis...
Well that's enough music for now, lads...

Brave Sir Robin ran away - No!
                  Bravely ran away, away - I didn't!
When danger reared its ugly head
He bravely turned his tail and fled - No!
Yes, brave Sir Robin turned about
                  And gallantly he chickened out
                  Bravely taking to his feet
He beat a very brave retreat
Bravest of the brave, Sir Robin
