Worst job you've ever had?

Elsy's thread got me thinking...

I've had a lot of rubbish (mainly p/t) jobs (about 20) and I'd be hard pushed to pick the worst.

Lots of people would saying cleaning toilets is bad, but actually I didn't mind it!

So my worst would be working for a well known ice cream parlour chain because I got repetitive strain injury from scooping rock-hard ice cream, sticky forearms and I got trapped in the giant freezer . But the boss was horrible so that what's made it worse - people are so important in a job!

The fish farm was pretty bad too!

When I was last between full time jobs, I did a number of different temporary things to help pay my mortgage.

I spent one and half days working in a car part factory. My job was to stand at a machine, take a black weight out of a box, place it on an engraving machine hold it there for 20 seconds, then put that weight into another box. That was possibly the most mind numbingly boring jobs I have ever done. It was from 8am to 6pm on one day, and 8am to 11am the next.

All because the box of weights came from the manufacturing company with out the engraving on.

Working for my family sucked. I don't really want to talk about it though. It brings back painful memories that I'm trying to forget.

17 yrs old, working partime at the morgue...you dont wanna know..and yes they kept a room full of body parts as it was a teaching hospital..disgusting..there was even a two headed baby that lived for 9 days...gross

Yeah a morgue has got to be worse than an ice cream parlour...

Darn I wish I had something equally as horrible, but the worst was just the sporting good store...I remember a mom asking me what size jockstrap she should buy for her son...Mind you I was 17 and very timid...I almost died of embarassment! (and so did her son!)

My worst job ever was when I was 12. This was a one time job. A lady neighbor said she had dead skunks under her house and for everyone I could find and bring out she would give me 50 dollars per skunk. I was hoping for a lot of dead skunks at that age because I was saving to buy a motorcycle. I asked my Dad and he said yes I could crawl under her house(still small enough at 12}and do the job. Well when i got under there it was not dead skunks but her sewage lines were backed up and I had crawled thru a lot of this families waste. You get the picture. Well when I finally came out and told her she didnt have skunks she said she just wanted to make sure. i said how much are you going to pay me and she said nothing, I just wanted to be sure i had a major problem before i hired a plumber. What a bi#$h of a neighbor. I went home covered in poo and prolly crying and told my Dad. he was furious but to make a long story short my Dad told the plumber what she had done and when he fixed her problem he overcharged the nasty neighbor $300 dollars and gave it to me. Thank God my Dad was good friends with the plumber. Worst job ever though, I can still remember it like it was yesterday.

And how come you were saving for a motorbike at 12?! What age are you allowed to ride one there?

i said how much are you going to pay me and she said nothing, I just wanted to be sure before i had a major problem before i hired a plumber. What a bi#$h of a neighbor.

it was big time money, no doubt but even with that big of a payday i still rate it my worst job ever. believe me it was awful.

It was a three wheel all terrain type thingy. there was no age limit at the time and being a farmers kid we learned to drive things at a very young age. I got my ATV a few months later with the help of that $300. I have often wondered if that plumber really gave me that much money or my Dad was just helping me out. He said it came from his plumber friend so I always believed that it did.
