    went to Reno last year..for Bowling Nationals..stayed at Circus Circus (athough spent most of our time at Harrah's) It was nice..had a blast..and yes alot less expensive than Vegas..well.. really depends on the individual though.

        Vegas of course is Number 1...Just the excitement of being there....but really..I think Reno is absolutely fine

              I'm down to go when ever, flights from here to Vegas are only like $75-$100 bucks & and about 45 minuts long...or it's like a 6 hour drive...
              Another option would be to stay OFF strip. It's much cheaper though (I think) not quiet as fun.
              My hubby and I actually got married by Elvis in Circus Circus!! lol it was very romantic let me tell you! hehee
              Circus Circus is not the 'nicest' hotel on the strip btw...
              Also, the one right across the street from Circus Circus - also an older hotel is always cheaper... For the life of me I can't think of what it is. But it's RIGHT across the street... lol

              Started Dec 2005 and lost 105 lbs by mid 2006, maintained loss for the most part until 2009...then really let go & gained some back... lol

                Yeah, that's what I was going to say, but didn't want to offend anyone. Circus Circus is getting pretty run down. It was sweet the first time I was there when I was like 10...it's almost always the cheapest on the strip because it's getting kinda crappy. there are some pretty decent off-strip places that aren't far and have free shuttles. Also, check out Downtown. The Golden Nugget was awesome, it just stunk that a cab was like $25 to the strip. There is the $2 bus though!

                  I have never stayed at Circus Circus in Vegas just the one in Reno..it wasn't to bad..cheaper of course and you could just walk from casino to casino inside. Trying to think where we last stayed in Vegas..senior moment..i'll get back with ya

                    Stratosphere is cheap, not a terrible place, but not awesome. It's supposedly on the strip, but waaaay end. I stayed at Luxor last time and it was really nice, closer on the other end of the strip and is typically very cheap these days.

                      I stayed at the MGM - that was really nice!! Plus it had a really nice pool too!! lol

                        i stayed at circus in vegas about 4 yrs ago. it was pretty decent. when i called yesterday she said it was 3 out of 5 stars. i dont know what everyones budget is like so i priced 3-4 star places to try to keep the cost reasonable. i'll look at the luxor too.

                              Sounds like loads of fun. Too difficult for me though, I think.
                              I'd always been told that hotels in Vegas were virtually free... cos you lost all your money gambling in them! Lol

                                this is true at times...although when we went to Reno last year..I came home with more money in my pocket than I left with...one of those Lucky trips...had a great time..5 days and 4 nights..ate well..bowled well..entertained well..break even trip..not always...just that time...lol
