The skeleton is indeed a bird skeleton, and I found that in a closet in one of the former patients' rooms. The blue and red thing is an old Christmas decoration we found in the kids' wing - it spelled out "Merry," and one elsewhere said "Christmas." The tower with the ladder up the side is the smokestack. That's where they cremated the bodies when people started dying too fast for them to bury.
