  • I went ghost hunting

...in an abandoned tuberculosis sanatorium in Booneville, Ark.
I made a slideshow and wrote a blog about it, if anyone is interested. It was loads of fun.

    The slide show
    The blog

I didn't so much see anything ghostly, but I had fun exploring the creepy place.

Have any of you ever had any supernatural experiences? (Since its's almost Halloween, and all... tee hee)

    Re: I went ghost hunting

That place looks enourmous! The pics with the footprints are creepy--who'd walk around that place in bare feet?!? And the skeleton one was creepy too--what was that, a bird??

I've had a spooky experience happen to me once. A few years ago we were living in a 2 bedroom apartment, everything on one floor. The bedroom doors were both angled facing each other, one for my two boys, the other for my hubby and me. At the time my kids were 3 and 1.

It was mid afternoon and I was folding laundry in the livingroom where I had a full view of both bedroom doors. Both of my kids were playing in their room when out of nowhere I see my oldest bolt out of his room and run into mine. My bathroom door was open and I didn't want him playing in there so I got up and ran down the short hall after him calling his name. I SAW HIM turn into my bathroom and I went in after him and NO ONE WAS THERE. I swear--no one. I thought maybe he was hiding so I looked behind the shower curtain--nothing.

Now in a panic, I look in my room--I saw him run into the bathroom but I thought maybe he'd snuck behind me and was in my room. Nothing.

Now convinced I'm losing it, I go into the kids room where I find both of my kids lookng at books in their closet. I asked my son if he'd just come from my room and he says no--he's been there the whole time.

I know what I saw--I saw a kid run into my room and then into my bathroom. Who that kid was or where he went--I have no clue....I haven't seen him again to ask, lol.

That was interesting, thanks for sharing. A while back there was a thread about people who had experiences with relatives who had passed. Maybe someone will give you a link to it.

I love this kinda stuff! But that definitely was a little creepy.. I gotta know what some of the stuff was..
          1. What was that thing with all the red and blue lights all over it?
          2. What where those bones?
          3. What was that tower with the ladder up the side?
And the foot prints were really creepy! I wonder how long they've been there..

I noticed in a lot of your pictures there were those round white floaty things, I've heard those are spirts or whatever, kinda creepy! I love this stuff but I dont know if I'd be able to handle actually going to a place like that lol especially if I did see anything "ghostly"

              Re: I went ghost hunting

Thats cool....thanks for sharing. Ghost hunts are lots of fun. I went with a group of people to the Perry Hotel in SLC several years ago. We arrived at 11pm and stayed about 3 hours. We split up in three groups and experiemented areas that had history of a haunt. Afterwards, we compared notes on the various areas. We got photos of orbs, cold spots, flickering lights -- but we saw no actual ghosts. The stories that surround the place are scarier than the things we experienced, but it was tons of fun.

I went with the Texarkana Paranormal Investigators. We got permission from the owners of the building. They make it a habit to ask permission wherever they go, though I'm not above sneaking... The skeleton is indeed a bird skeleton, and I found that in a closet in one of the former patients' rooms. The blue and red thing is an old Christmas decoration we found in the kids' wing - it spelled out "Merry," and one elsewhere said "Christmas." The tower with the ladder up the side is the smokestack. That's where they cremated the bodies when people started dying too fast for them to bury.

                  Re: I went ghost hunting

oh that sounds like so much fun. I love that kinda stuff. We used to frequent cemeteries late at night when I was a teen. I got my mom to go with me to one in 2005 at night and I took a bunch of pictures. Got some interesting things.

this is one of the pictures I took. It's always reminded me of a troll doll.
                  .

I always saw something in this one in the middle bottom in the tree lines. Maybe it's my vivid imagination.

with this one to me it looks like a tv imageon the tree very weird. No tv's in the cemetery that I know of. lol

                  misc orbs/dust?

                    Re: I went ghost hunting

That's cool! I'm addicted to this ghost hunting thing now.

I'm trying to get a floor plan of the building we were in to find out if one of my pics is a face in the window or if it's a globe light caught at a weird angle. It'd be way cooler if it were a face.

I'm pretty sure most of the orbs in my photos are dust orbs. That place was so dusty you choked on it. Not to mention the asbestos... Most of them are transparent, and I've read that in photos where you see lots of them, they generally aren't parnormal.
