Really nice, actually. Thanksgiving bash on Thursday with such good wine, food, friends and family. Friday I got to laugh at my hungover husband all day, and then Saturday and Sunday were spent putting the house back together and hanging around with the kiddles. I got very little of substance done, except some serious hours of TiVo-watching. Does it make me a terrible nerd if I have gotten addicted to BBC's Torchwood? The lead guy is gorgeous!

Hey...not just the Brits were lonely..i was here too!!!

I've heard about Britains holidays...very nice! France must be similar, i work with alot of people in France, seems like every time i try to get hold of someone it's some holiday over there...

Though i shouldn't complain, next year i'll be at 5 weeks paid puls 4 'floater' days on top of our stat holidays.

I think most of the EU have the same laws, dunno about the commonwealth though... i get confused with technicalities

I think most of the EU have the same laws, dunno about the commonwealth though... i get confused with technicalities

there is a law that you have to get 4% of your pay in vacation pay (i think?), but it doesn't mean you get vacation..some people don't get paid days off but once a year they get that 4% pay to make up for it.

I'll be at 10 years of service this year so i get an extra week, I had negotiated my 4 weeks when i was hired, as i had been laid off after my first 10 years then was hired back and said i would come back unless they gave me my vac back. and surprise, they did LOL.

on that note..i just found out tonight i've been submitting my pager duty oncall pay wrong and i now owe the company $1800 back for the past 2 years. jsut in time for christmas. nice.

4% - thats really screwy too.... thats only what, 10 days if you work 5 days each week? I should stop moaning about my vacation time i guess, but it does really suck for this country.
