    A few years ago I came to Texas the last two weeks of August for a wedding in San Antonio. Back home I had decided to make it a vacation and to tour that part of Texas and go down to Mexico. I thought I would melt and have heat stroke! The day we went to Mexico, it was 110 degrees and the heat index was 125 degrees.

    Next time I come to Texas will be in December or January. I lived in Key West, FL and Ft. Lauderdale and it was never as hot as Texas.
    People who say it can't be done, should not interrupt those doing it.

      That's the truth! When I moved to Maryland in the late '90s, I was THRILLED with the early spring and then the summer came. Thought I was gonna die! Got used to it though and loved the long growing season for my garden. Still visit friends down there...just not in the summer.

      Temperature at house #2 (Rhode Island) was 94 with a heat index of 106. By the time I made the 100 mile drive to house #1 on Cape Cod it was in the mid 80s with an ocean breeze. I hope we don't get hurricane Bill this weekend.

          Is it convenient for all of us to show up at house #1 by late afternoon? We'll bring legal food!

            Right now the temp in my back yard as well as in my house is 29.9 C can I say hot in central British Columbia, high today was 37 C or 97 F that is pretty hot when the humidity is really low. Hopefully I can sleep tonight, last night was a different story.

                Aurora, IL.
                It was 80F earlier, now it is 70F. Humidity is 88%.

                We had a noisy thunder/lightening/heavy rain, and it cooled to 70. But we are supposed to get another storm later tonight, and we are under a Tornado watch until midnight.

                Aurora is about 45 minutes drive west of Chicago, about 40 miles from downtown Chicago.

                  Sure!!! I have a guest bedroom, pull out sleeper in the den and plenty of aerobeds. Carole can ride her bike all over the bike trails and we can all go to the beach and give dirty looks to the carb eating tourists.
