Laura, that is fantastic. CONGRATULATIONS TO YOU!!Originally posted by BikerGoddessSecond day I've been 125, so I think I might have finally made goal.
I don't know about you but I have to chalk my recent victory of getting below 150 to this induction challenge. I want to reach the 145 lb. goal by Valentines so I have about 5 more weeks to work on that. I think I'm staying with induction foods at least one more week and will then return to OWL and let the last few pounds come off slow and steady. Who knows, I might just move my goal down to 140lbs. and try to stay between 140-145 for the rest of my life. I certainly miss my "OWL" foods and do plan to get back there in a week. But this has certainly "kick-started" my weightloss again and being here to encourage other newbies is lots of fun.
How is everybody else doing??Re-started: 2/23/09
Starting: 215
Current: 207
First Goal: 175

Thanks, Janice
Even though I didn't follow the rules precisely (planets were against me or something) I stuck as close to the rules as I could get. It was enlightening to see how hard it was and I have a new appreciate for our newbies now... lol

I would like to do this challenge also. I just signed up tonight to join this board. I can't get to the store until Friday to load up on the right foods but I think I have enough things on hand to get by until then. I have eggs, bacon, canned tuna and salmon, plus some hamberger pattys.

Shiva, welcome. Count yourself in!! That list of foods sounds good. Got any green leafy veggies you can add to it?? When you get a chance, go to our FAQ's Forum and read the list of Induction Foods and maybe you'll find some other things you have in your pantry or fridge.
Good luck to you! Keep us posted on your progress.

You guys have great will power!!! I was induction for a longtime, say around 4 months. I was doing it clean, but had some slip ups. Now, I found it easier to just go ahead and leave induction (sigh!) and move on to on going weight loss. I still eat under 20 grams of carbs a day, but have expanded my variety of foods to include low-carb breads and tortillas (3g carbs per roll or tortilla), drink crystal lite, and sometimes eat the sugar free candies. I don't drink diet soda because I don't like the way I feel a day later or like the way the scale feels either. So far, with a few slip ups here and there, I have done fairly well on Atkins. But for me, go back to induction, no way! I don't think I could make it with only water and no bread and no candies.Atkins is the best thing since... Well maybe not sliced bread!
Start Date - August 14, 2003 (weight 292 lbs)
Was Stalled From - January 13, 2004 to March 13th @ (weight 231 lbs)
Current Date - March 18, 2004 (weight 225 lbs)

Hey BikerGoddess, I didn't always follow the rules down to a "T" either. I think Dr. Atkins knew alot of us wouldn't be able to. I think alot of his guidelines for induction are what we should strive for and anywhere close to them is good.Atkins is the best thing since... Well maybe not sliced bread!

AM-06, I absolutely agree. The problem comes in when someone doesn't understand the science behind the diet and starts making modifications willy-nilly.
Some people do need to get pretty strict to lose weight, though
Best of luck to everyone who started the challenge with us. I'm going to drop out now (and pull those muffins out of the freezer
) so I don't lose too much. As tempting as that is :boom

Hi all! I've just finished my first week on induction and I've lost 5 pounds. I'm moving ahead with the faith that I will stay on track. My first week, I think my weight-loss stalled because I was still having a couple of diet sodas each day and gave myself a sugar free candy treat everyday...no more! I would like to join the challenge that you've all taken for re-induction. I have around 60 pounds to lose and I know I will do it! :laughing

Me too! Would love to Start 2 week Induction New year!
Hi All! I have read everyone's story. Sounds like mine. I love you guys! I lost 25 lbs from August 1, 2003 to October 31, 2003. I went from 160 to 135. I was so excited! I love this new way of eating. Then I went to my mother's for Thanksgiving, from Southern Califronia to Southern Florida and since then have gained back 5 lbs. I don't want to gain anymore, so I decided to get back into the 2 wks induction. I still am cautious of what i eat but not on a strict basis, that is why i want to get back into the 2 wk induction. I love reading and also looking at before and after pictures. I have some great shots but don't know how to incorporate it into my messages. Any tips would help! You guys, keep up the good work..... it really shows! Thanks for being there for me. Love ya... whiptheweight
