Yeah due to the cyclical nature of life many of the mod's decided to start the year off w/a clean two week induction to blow past the holiday season. We decided we could all keep each other motivated
I announced around Thanksgiving I wanted to let my body get used to my new lower weight. If you've read my posts you know I actually suggest hanging out & getting used to the new you before heading out on another losing spree at predetermined intervals. But hey that's just me since I'm a former Diabetic my Blood Glucose levels are what I care about most & losing pounds is secondary to that.
I also was going to concentrate on exercise & trying to find my carb equilibirium level or whatever the heck the latest acronym it is they call it now. I did just that, ate more carbs than I had been, even feasted on some low carb chocolates a few times, had a few bean based stews, etc-at one point I was up around 4lbs but came out at the end exactly where I started which is what I planned.
So several of the other mods decided for various reasons to join me just to start the new year off right. We are all human; we celebrate during the celebratory season so now it's time to buckle down for a while.
I don't know how the other mods will feel about me starting this thread but you know maybe we can post daily starting today & others can join in-sort of like an exercise challenge type thing or ??? who's got some other ideas how to structure it to keep a lot of people motivated & doing it.
Another idea I have is maybe we can post some sample meal menu's we're doing for the newbies to see. I remember when I was 1st starting out on this WOL I was really confused about what/how to eat. I read the book carefully but Atkins leaves it kind of open when it comes to actual meal plans & you have to figure out what dishes work for you. Later on I appreciated his open ended approach which allows everybody to work out their own menu that works for them based on the list of approved induction foods, but at 1st I was frantically looking for specific menu plans/meal ideas & they just weren't there.
So why don't all you new members join us?
I know for a fact that we have had a very large number of new members join us over just the past few days.
Also for all the mod's as we reinduct we can refamiliarize ourselves upfront & personally w/induction & help ourselves focus on the correct & relevant info for getting others going.
& to the other Mods now I've brought us out of the closet so to speak, any ideas how to do this so that most people can benefit from it?
So today, was my 1st day back on it. Breakfast was Turkey Pastrami scrambled together w/eggs NYC style
Lunch was a mixed salad, some home-made chicken-veggie soup & a little smoked trout w/lemon squeezed over it & lots of good old water
Oh yeah just had a snack of a few almonds & a couple of walnuts too.
