Swear Words

Can I ask why H E L L is masked on this forum ? Why is this a swear word ? Is this an American thing ?

Because in Australia we use the phrase "Bloody ****" all the time!

Just curious is all.

Also what other naughty words are masked ?

It's an American thing, Dave.

I think most of the censored words, if written in the right context, are OK but...what the **** are you going to do! It's an Admin decision. <grin>

YES I imagine it is!!.... because of a bunch of reasons that I would hang myself trying to explain to you here...I am sure someone will explain it objectively sooner or later......but be reassured ... it flies out of mine, my friends and my families mouths at a pretty regular pace

Well, I don't get why that particular H word is considered a swear word, except that as my mother used to say:

Swearing is an ignorant man's way to make a point without having to expand his vocabulary to include big words, or when he really doesn't care about swaying someone's opinion in a meaningful way.

Now, with that said, I also can tell you, I use that word a LOT! I think it's kind of silly to have that one considered a swear word!

many words came precensored in the software and an admin has to go unlist it to have it not be ****. the first time I was posting to a 3 weeker about post induction hesitation in scale weight loss known as P I S S I didn't space it and well folk thought I was cussing.

I will say THERE ARE some really bad words not censored, LOL, I just tried a bunch of them and was STARTLED to see some of the worst ones there!!! LOL...It shook me up, I couldn't change this post fast enough....whew...
