    Oh man way of eating changes? That is hard cause i love the way of eating but as a Diet Coke addict on day one I'd have to say not having to give up caffeine.
    I knew it would be a hard question, but its the one that 2big always asks when she asks a 5 minutes of fame question. So I just had to get my own back.

I wanted tooshortformyweight but that was gone and since as those that have read my ah ha moment post know I was bigger then i thought and got stuck in the kiddie tunnel as the reason i started so 2BIG4MYSIZE seemed like a very correct nic. Now it keeps me focused on what could happen if this carboholic let the 300+ pounder out again.

I was very frustrated with a low carb board that allowed any low carber to answer newbie questions even if the newbie posted I'm doing Atkins can i have .... especially when the Shwartbein low carbers would say sure you can have fruit I eat it every day when a new inductee would bemoan not having fruit or ask if they could. I complained and complained to the mods and admins and even got into it on the site with those folk misleading the Atkins newbies in several topics and finally a mod who agreed with my posisiton told me they were forbidden to ban the not doing that program plan from posting info not related to that plan by the board owner and suggested i'd be happier with an all Atkins board and gave me the URL for this new all atkins place. So I joined and read and posted answers to questions I knew the answers too in the CC forum. Brook PMed me asking for help with some misinformation poster and got to leak my 2BIG brain in other forums . Then Tom tricked me into being a real mod asking me to help with the old FAQ and poof I was doing mod work and the rest is history.
        4) Most diet coke-aholics believe that its a diet drink, so what made you decide that it was a part of the problem and not a cure. Cause i researched the effects of caffeine and found several that should that caffeine stimulates insulin production. Since i had already researched Dr Atkins fat burning info i knew insulin is a fat storing hormone and works in a negative feed back loop with the fat burning hormone so caffeine and fat in fat stored not burned untill all sugar sources used up andblood sugar drops to evoke the fatburning hormone and shut off the insulin production. This is what causes the cravings and hunger high carb low cal folk get so that was enough for me to give it up.

          I have a very good memory according to folk soaking up everything. I just thought everrybody's worked like that when i was younger. i used to remember the reading assignments word for word when i was a kid and look up answers in my head turning the pages appearently using my finger cause my 4th grade teacher ask me what i was doing during a test and i told her I was reading the history book to get the right day for the answer. She ask me if I'd memorized it and I toldher no I just read it.

            Hey Rich if you look I ask them if they could change one thing about the Atkins plan and with the change it would still magically work. I don't restrict them to just eating changes. Some folkhave replied do away with the exercise LOL

              You are an amazing woman - I've enjoyed reading your 5 minutes of fame and when I read thru the ADBB and come across a question a newbie askes that is difficult - I always think to myself - 2big will know!

              Whats a favorite childhood memorie- one that always makes you smile.

              What is your favorite scent and does it hold a memory for you.

              I like to try to figure out mystery/crime shows before the end too - so far the only one I have trouble with is Monk - have you ever watched it and can you figure out the ending before it arrives?

              Did you ever sell your house? I remember you debating on it, and then I must have missed the end results.

                I second the motion for doing away with the exercise if we had a magic wand to make the plan work without it. That and I'd like more caffeine!

                What kept you going during plateaus?

                I know you have grown your own veggies - What's growing in your garden now, and what's going in this year?

                  Whats a favorite childhood memorie- one that always makes you smile. Saturday morning as a little kid after an adult party at our house. Our house had a rule it was not morning till daddy's alarm clock wentoff so even if we were awake at 5 we had to stay in bed till it rung. But Saturday mornings we could get up when we woke up so of course being born before 24 hr multichannel tv we would sit and watch the test patterns go round and round waiting anxiously for the farm report to come on at 5:15AM. On mornings after friday night parties my mother would bribe us with the leftover "adult" goodies if we behaved and stayed in bed during the parties. It was not until i was an adult that I learned she bought special goodies for us and refilled the bowls with our goodies. We would run open the fridge to get the dip for the fancy veggie and chip trays, the fancy finger snadwiches and our leftover drinksto go with the chip bowls.. She was sneaky too cause the dip was applesauce spoced with cinnamon so we didn't eat too many goodies but enough to be breakfast and us think we were grown ups and boy did we try to be fancy like the folk in the old movies those mornings

                  What is your favorite scent and does it hold a memory for you. I'm not a perfume air freshener scented candles type person. I don't really like any flower smells either so i'd have to say the smell of little kids after a bath snuggling up.

I remember you debating on it, and then I must have missed the end results. my dreamhouse is now occupied by a mixed generations Katrina survivor family until their parish is rebuilt. Mother has to have 24 hr care and it is easier for Alzheimer folk in familar settings so I take care of her in her house.

                    What kept you going during plateaus? stubborness!!!! plateau number 1 i was like any newbie and changed up everything everybody suggested, no cheese, more water, less tomato, no onion, cut out all dairy, more fiber, lower carb induction veggies, higher carb induction veggies, no beef, etc., and no movement. finally I was eating so strange to me i just went back to where I was when i stopped losing and eat there and the scales moved again.

                    Having had that experience i knew it would move again and even though sitting on 200 pounds for over 8 weeks is no fun i knew it would move again and sure enough it did. the 12 weeks 6 days stall in summer 03 i had lots of ADBB support and even tried the slug diet LOL of a week to see if I was over working out and that about killed me jonesing for the gym and treadmill but it got my mind off the stall.
                    you have to do as chapter 15 in DANDR says and if you know you have no carb creep, no change in lifestyle and no medical conditions effecting it that sometimes a plateau is just a plateau and wait it out doing your Atkins correct program.

                    I know you have grown your own veggies - What's growing in your garden now, and what's going in this year? I don't get access to my big garden cause it is in the house yd but I have 2 whiskey barrels of herbs and an 8 by 4 veggie patch i'm crowding the heck out of growing space. Our frost day is May 7th and having gotten caught last yr with a late freeze non of my summer veggies are out there but i got eggplants peppers tomatoes and okra inside ready to transplant and i still have the cool weather veggies radishes carrots greens lettuce spinach bullsblood beets for the tops and swiss chard growing.they will all bolt next month but that is what Fresh Express in the grocery is for

                        basically they are fun, challenging, and they allow me to eat more carbs.
                        I was just treadmilling in the beginning getting in shape walking and when my doc said I could start weight training I was using the program the instructor at the gym set up with complementary and opposisitonal muscle groups. I discovered the BFL lifting by accident.
                        Brook who was a mod here in the early day was always after me to have goals since I was the happy go lucky woo hoo lookie how great my Atkins is working person. She has written up her anniversary post about the mental work she did before she started using Bill Phillips Body For Life book and she ask me if I'd read it. When i said nope but I'd looked at the eating plan she said i should so i'd understand better about the goals. I got the book and loved the exercise part didn't care for the goals, wants, and changes to make part. I was ready to start a new 12 week program at the gym and decided to use that one and see if the results were better. I did the lifting part of the BFL but kept my cardio after and my endurance treadmilling on alternating days. I can remember gleefully posting about the 3rd bulge popping out on my upperarm and everybody running to an anatomy book or site to learn what the heck i was talking about. I loved the plates going up so fast too. I love being able to out lift the big guys trying to shoew off in the gym and the regulars their loved setting the guys up so I was hooked on the lifting and have been doing BFL style lifting 12-10-8-6-12-12 workouts ever since. Doing the workouts now allows me to eat over 115 net carbs of veggies nuts fruits, legumes, and grains. without the BFL workouts I can only eat 45 net carbs and since i love veggies i chose to do the more intense workouts still even though i'm a goalie and could cut back.

                        HIIT i discovered after someone posted about their trainer told them to turn up the speed every couple of minutes and then turn it back down and what did we think about that. Fred who was a runner posted he did that and it was called interval training. So I had to check it out and read the studies. it made a lot of since being that you go fast, use up the energy in the muscle but not long enough to trigger the glycogen stores to be released (which would increase blood sugar and trigger insulin release)and then you recover with oxygen availible to burn off the end products and keep the hormone needed for fat burning which was triggered by the blood sugar drop working hard to get fatty acids ( that is our fatburning fuel) ready from the body stores to the muscle mitochondrias and liver for energy replenishment and then you go fast and burn off that replenished enrgy. So you use more energy then slow fatburning workouts for the exact same amount of time and you avoid the sugar creation from protein amino acids which triggers insulin if you wewre to do the whole workout fullspeed.
                        i was discouraged at first cause Fred was doing quarter mile intervals and full speed quarte rmile for me back then was a 3 min full speed which i knew the human body doesn't do as the availible stored muscle energy is gone in 1-2 min and i'd be in the protein for sugar mode. I did some more research and discovered you could use your own maxium heart rate to know when you were doing the high intensity part high enough and only do 1 min at that no matter how slow or fast you were going. That seemed ideal for me.
                        So Being the curious person I am i had to see if this would work and being I was coming off the slug week of my 12 week 6 day stall I need something else to focus on. I was dying on day 2 but stuck it out and by November was going 7.5 MPH for my fast and 5MPH ( which was my fast mode when I was thinking about this in Aug of 2003) as my recovery mode. i was very impressed how much my resting heart rate had come doen and how much faster i was going to just reach the max heart rate. I had a big reality check when a trainer from the local university ask me what I was doing in the gym and then told me nope i wasn't HIITing cause I was nose breathing the whole time and I should use the incline to increase the work load since i couldn't go any faster walking. Even though the scales only moved 5 pounds for the 6 months according to the dunk tank BFL and HIIT had added 7 pounds of lean body mass and i was a beliver.

                        Of course the shopping trip for the new dress up clothes a month later was a real eye opener when i was wearing a 12 very comfortably with my hands in the pockets even thought the snooty sales lady wanted me to buy a 10. I was bigger weightwise then when i was playing ball in my youth but I was smaller sizewise.

                            okay if this doesn't post you are destined to not get it cause I've tried 3 times to post it for you and it keeps not going.

                            Flax meal Cakes
                            mix 1/4 cup of flax meal with 1/4 t baking powder and if you want pinch about 1/8th t of cinnamon or nutmeg or pie spice.

                            add a Tablespoon of the following oil I use EEOV, cream,sourcream and water. add one egg and stir it all up. it should be thin like pancake batter if not add more water.
                            let sit for 5 min for flax to develope batter will thicken. Spoon into heated skillet allow room for it to expand.

                            cook on low heat for 4 min in a covered skillet gently flip and cook 4 more min makes 4 cakes. 2 should be very filling and induction flaxseed rule 12 legal.

                            Pumpkin butter
                            mix 1/4th cup cooked or canned pumpkin with 1 ounce softened cream cheese and 1/2t pie spice. I likeit warmed spread on my flax cakes but have been known to eat it off the spoon. I think cream cheese tastes sweet so I don't use sweetners but you can add one of your servings if you want. I tried it with some maple low carb syrup mixed in but it was too sweet for my tastes.

                                I got very musclular legs and have been able to move impressivre amounts even when i was a teen not training as I foumd out from the fellows on the football team who saw our gymclass "play" in the weight room back in 11th grade. I lifted the whole stack on the universal for the leg press. before the knee surgeries on 04I was leg pressing 735 but since then my doc said I can't lift more then 200 pounds. I was gleefully fooling around in the gym my first day back since May 05 and pressed 400 on one of the machines just to see how high i could go.


                                I can lift my whole body and do chinups
                                I can bench press 235 for the 6 sessions of the BFL bench press.
