  • 1 Year STAC Atkinsversary

This is my celebration thread. Tomorrow truly will be a celebration for me. A celebration that I have committed myself to a healthy way of eating and STUCK WITH IT. A celebration that I have had success, that while I haven't QUITE made my "goal" I have done what I talked about in a post I made here almost a year ago http://www.atkinsdietbulletinboard.c...3&page=1&pp=10

My join date at ADBB is September 2003 I believe, but January 2, 2006, one year ago tomorrow, is the day I started writing a new chapter in my life. I am smaller than I was in high school. Some of you have seen me posting pictures of myself in my Junior year prom dress

In the past year while I've been here at ADBB I've had so many successes in life in addition to weight loss. I've stopped smoking for 5 months, and I've started running on a regular basis, those are the big ones.

I thank everyone here at ADBB who has poked and prodded me, cheered with me, scolded me, helped me, hugged me, corrected me, inspired me, motivated me. This site has been invaluable to me on my journey.

Now, onward into 2007 to finish up and make goal.
    ~Joy

    Start 1/2/06 Goal 6/11/07 restart 1/2/09

QUIT SMOKING JULY 23, 2006 while on Atkins

Just when you think you've eaten enough vegetables...EAT SOME MORE!

Thanks everyone! I really feel pumped up and ready to go. Last year I had motivation, obviously, but I had a long journey ahead. I was 268 lbs, size 22, felt like crap, addicted to carbohydrates and feeling a bit of dread, a bit of fear. Today, I'm within 10 lbs of my scale goal, within 3% of my body fat goal, exercising...so its definitely a totally different perspective.

Joy, I'll just basically repeat what everyone has said so far! You've come SUCH a long way--you are an inspiration to many, and certainly to me! It's truly amazing, all of the progress you've made, and how you're STILL positive, STILL going strong. You haven't "quit" because you're there, you've figured out how to truly make this a way of LIFE.

Congratulations Joy! You are my inspiration!
