  • bye bye 290 something

wow ! i have been in the 290's for at least a year... last 6 mos hovering in the 296-298 range until last month when i saw the dreaded 300.0

ok so slap in the face you're 300 - start atkins. clean induction, TOM, when all is said and done 13 lbs in the first month- not bad - 287lbs

last nite, TOM again, retain water, cramps (sorry if too graphic for the menfolk) this morning.. you know the drill, wake up. hit the bathroom, jump on scale.. 289... 289 1ST DAY OF TOM? with water retention, etc etc and still only 289 ??

i have seen the 290's for the last time and its fantastic !

(maybe a small accomplishment to some, but its huge to me!)

That is so very AWESOME! I feel the same way about that 300 mark (once I get below it, of course – which will be soon!). I do understand about TOM even though I am one of those menfolk. It would be helpful if you can prepare for this time, mentally, by knowing that you will have water retention, bloating; you know the routine. That way you will not get anywhere near being discouraged about a pound or two gained.

Do not let anyone belittle your success because it is great and definitely a notable milestone!

i find it so satisfying to be completely away from a number that has plagued me for a long time. it's like, even when we get below a number, we still see it for weeks, whether it be when we're retaining water, or if we weigh ourselves with our clothes/shoes on, etc...we still end up seeing the number. the day we don't see that number anymore, even with clothes/shoes on, is the best.
