  • What a year!

Well, the year is almost over and a lot of us have come a long way... so congratulations to everyone that has met their goals OR are on track to doing so.

I'm finally starting to see the new me when I look in the mirror, not just the blob I once was. Wearing a size 36 pant and XL shirts that are getting loose is just a great feeling. I've been trying on suit jackets and 46 fits pretty well, but, a little short in the sleeves. The last time I tried on a jacket I was lucky to get into anything in the 50s. I've not purchased one for so long as I could not afford the "custom" sizes or one made just for me. More holes have been punched in the belt. When I reach my goal I may retire it and keep it as a reminder of where I once was.

I'm only 20 pounds away from my big goal!

Sorry I've not been around as much recently. I've been swamped at work and by the time I get home I just zone out with some music and call my day done. Hopefully things will start to lighten up by the middle of next month. We are taking a long weekend trip to Savannah, GA to celebrate her birthday as well as my dear friend Jack's birthday.

In March, I'll be headed back up to visit my ill friend in CT and then a cruise in late May.... Hopefully I can stay away from that buffet line!

Happy Holidays to all that celebrate and to those that don't, enjoy the extra day off!

      Re: What a year!

Chadci, isn't it wonderful to be able to shop for clothes and THEY FIT!!? My daughter got me some sweaters for Christmas, that I can wear to work and Tuesday was the first time I tried them on. I was surprised to see how nicely they fit! I could do cartwheels, I'm so happy!! And I love your Status line too...I love meat! but I like broccoli and meatballs with shredded cheese melted on top too. I eat that every day for lunch at work!
When you're on your cruise, walk around the buffet first, scouting out the foods...then pick the best foods to eat. That's what I have success doing. Drive careful on your visits and have a wonderful Fit Year.

          Re: What a year!

Congrats, Chadci! It HAS been a wonderful year for you. Happy holidays and have a wonderful time in Savannah. I was there in February a few years back and it was wonderful. Great city and the balmy weather is a nice respite in the winter. I remember the shop owners trying to get us to come in out of the cold. It was in the 60s that night.

Wow, What an awesome year you've had. looking at where you started and where you're at now is providing me with a much needed boost. I can definitely relate to the punching holes in the belts and such. I look forward to the day you "retire" the belt, and I definitely will be keeping mine as a reminder of what I've achieved, and continue to achieve. Have a great new year! Take care!

              Re: What a year!

127 pounds in 8 months.... WOW I'm so happy for your successes.... I'd be holding onto that belt too if I were you. It must feel so wonderful to be able to go in and buy stuff off the shelf.

I hope things lighten up a little at work (but not too much, right ) It sounds like you are planning a couple of well deserve breaks/treats. As you are very aware, planning on the cruise is the key to getting through the buffets. Especially all those decadent desserts they serve everywhere. Just wear the same belt and give it a Tug every time you're tempted.... that might help give you some restraint.

Best wishes and prayers to you ill friend (and you who have to sit by and watch... yeah, I'm there with you on this one)
