This is my second go at the adkins diet, I tried it once and lost 25lbs but it caused me to be a depressed emotional wreck. Anyone else have this problem? I finally gave up and went back to carbs and wreckless overeating and packed on 35 lbs. About a month ago I started watching what I ate, limiting portions and tried to eat healthier, I tried hard and didn't cheat and found that I actually put on a few pounds. Talk about a blow. Well over the weekend I decided protien was going to be my friend whether it wanted to or not, I made omelets with lots of fresh vegetables, turkey and salsa that kept me full most of the day. For dinner I had chicken and fresh veggies with just a little bit of rice. I did this for two days, TWO, and my energy level shot through the roof not to mention that somehow I dropped 5 pounds reaching my one month goal when I originally started the other diet a month ago. After that I made up my mind, I am doing the adkins...that doesn't mean I'm going to sit and eat a ton of fatty foods and count every carb that comes across my plate but I am going to put an emphasis on protien and cut out things like bread and potatoes and as much sugar as possible. Wish me luck, I hope we can all get to a place where we are comfortable with our weight, appearance and overall health.
