        Re: Hi

Hello, ME!!!! I am so happy that you are taking the journey. Isn't amazing how many people there are to support each other on this BB? I am still in awe that there are so many who care about big old us!!!!!! I am really glad to hear that you are taking the steps to get there well educated....but don't wait..start today. You can read about all the levels while you dive into induction...don't put it off. Putting it off only gives you more time to eat wrong wrong wrong!!!! i usually am not so directive about advice as i feel no one can walk in another's shoes and know what they are feeling or going thru. But in your case, I think there are a lot of us who have walked in your shoes.

Don't delay! Get into induction, don't wait till after the holidays or until you finish the book. That's like saying I am going to wait to accept God after i finish reading the bible!!!! (okay I am overdramatic, not blonde, but a Gemini!!!) It will take you a couple of days (different with everyone, but i have read here that it's about 2-5 days) od withdrawal. Now it's not like other types of withdrawals, thank heavens, but you might not feel your greatest...but then you don't feel great now, do you???? After you get the carbs all burned and your body adapts to not having them as your fuel...you will feel great. And it's only a matter of days, not like weeks or months...you'll feel the results that quickly.

I only weigh myself once a week, some do every day, but i find that once a week gives me a more accurate picture of what is really going on. So, Me!!!!!, don't delay, dive in, do what the Nike commercial says."Just do it!". I think you will be so glad you did! Also I have never been one to follow recipes...I am a "let-me-loose-in-the-kitchen-type-to-do-my-own-thing. But I have really enjoyed trying some of the recipes. I stated dping this after the induction phase because i just wanted to concentrate on that while I was in it. I decided to do induction for three weeks because I want to lose the weight slowly. You may need to stay in induction longer. I have read for some people here that had a significant amount to lose....losing was more important than experimenting with recipes...which makes total sense to me. But do know that eventually you can have a lot of fun cooking for you and those grandbabies again and doing it in away that is good for you!!!! My family here at home still eat carbs and i have to cook for them, but it doesn't even bother me to be around them or cook with them. Yesterday i fixed pumpkin pie for them with whip cream and for me I mixed some pure pumpkin puree with real whip cream and cinnamon and nutmeg and had my coffee right along with them. All that was missing was the crust and i didn't miss it at all. The best part of yesterday was today!!!!! i got up with no carb hangover, no bloatedness, no guilt over having over eaten the day before and I have my water bottle ready to aim, point, drink, drink, drink!!! It has become my little weapon against storing fat!

So, Me, have a great day and if you have to chain yourself to your computer for a while and get comfortable here...do it. I have gained sooo much confidence from these wonderful "losers" ha!ha! I sound like a pro...and i'm not, but i ahev done much research over what keeps me from losing weight and all that i have learned points to those damn bad carbs!
