Re: I never thought to look here

Oh, then someone else goes by your handle. LOL

You can go to ADBB gallery (top toolbar) and upload your pic there in general membership section, or try www.photobucket.com free account. Then you insert the paths afterwards into your posts &/or siggy.

Glad you didn't run off. Different people have had different experiences along their weight loss journey. Whatever you have to say about what works for you is just as important as anyone else's success story.

Do you still eat 1 meal a day?

Re: I never thought to look here

In the standard post box window (the one with all the smilies) there's a little yellow square with mountains on it. Use that to inser pictures instead of links to them, like this:
(You may have to temporarily allow scripted windows)

this is what I pasted in the insert picture box that popped up, from the properties of the image. (Note the path is shown in abbreviated form, with ...'s, but the whole path is there)

No need to take umbrage Doug. No one is criticising what works for you.. I'm very pleased your method has helped you so much. We (Silly and I) were really only putting in a warning to newbies to be very careful with shakes and bars. They might not stall you, but if you stick around the board much longer, you'll see that they do stall very many people. Just trying to save new members time and worry when they find this happens to them.

If you are ok with shakes, then who are we to say "don't use them"... to you. We're happy with 'live and let live'.
          Peace.

This is me at 302 # and 158 Pounds. My wife has lost 60 pounds using my method. I weighed 155.07 this morning.I need to eat more to put on some weight.I try to keep it at 158 to 160 pounds. In time you just slow down on your eating. I originally got this way from over eating and it took years of practice. The only way to keep weight off permanately is to reduce your caloric intake especially for maintainace. You have to start practiceing this every minute of every day until it becomes habit.I just finished my morning shake and I am satisfied. There is something in it that is satisfing if you will llisten to your stomach.I went for years not knowing the felling of full.I still don't know but I settle for satisfied. Before I would eat a full meal when I was full from the last.Full was when it hurt.Sound familar?

Re: I never thought to look here

Sounds very familiar (not just to me, I'm sure) - we learn to eat only until we are no longer hungry, instead of for the sake of eating if we are to succeed in losing and keeping off the extra weight.

My downfall was frequently the all-you-can-eat buffet combined with liking to eat just about everything, and trying to have some of it all at every visit.

I still take great pleasure in a huge variety of foods, but am pleased and satisfied by the (often lengthly) preparation of a gourmet meal now as much as if not more than the eating of it.

I had to have a face lift. The Doctor took 2 1/2 inches of skin off my face. The rest of my body was OK not great but doable. My stomach remains flat.Just extra skin on my legs and arms.Doug

I never thought I'd exercise on a regular routine, but I now look forward to some sort of exercise everyday.
