  • Second time after a long break

    Hi all,

Congrats to all those for whom the diet is working/has worked, and for those who are starting for the first time may you be met with success. If you pay attention to the plan as laid out in DANDR, believe me- you will be wildly successful.

Coming back to the fold afer a long time off. First time around I lost 130 pounds, got close to my goal, got lazy, got sloppy, got fat all over again. Put back 105 pounds, not good. Started three days ago for the second time and I've already dropped eight pounds.

The goal is 199 pounds just so I can say I'm under 200. I have no idea if that's realistic or not. The last time I saw 200 was in the eighth grade, 31 years ago. Seems like it should be an attainable if somewhat difficult goal though, I'm 6'2" with a big build.

    Cheers to all,

    QSECOFR

Hello Qsecofr... Welcome back to Atkins! It's really good news that you decided to re-commit to this way of eating. Soon you'll reap the benefits of better health and a trimmer figure for sure. Seems like you're off to a great start this time around.

Why not hop over to the Second Time Around forum? There you'll find everyone has fallen off the wagon at least once, only to climb back on. Many have gone on to reach goal. Lots of support , inspiration and good "second time" tips to be had there.

Do keep us posted! We're looking forward to reading about your progress.

Hi Qsecofr. Welcome back to this wonderful plan and to this board. You know the drill, consistence and proper eating! When your body feels right and you are happy with the way you look, that will be your goal. Just take it one day at a time, come around the board often, especially if you feel yourself about to falter. Lots of supportive people will come to your aid.

I don't see mention if you are M of F? Not that it matters, but inquiring minds like to know.

        My apologies, sillygirl.

Male, 44, 327/316/199, southeastern U.S., guitarist by choice, RPGLE programmer by economic necessity. (Er, RPGLE is a programming language that's so ugly only IBM could love it ).

I think that knocks down the basics.

Thanks for the warm words, Sally. I'm not worried about the diet working for me, that's been proven beyond any doubt. What I have to watch out for this time is not falling off like I did last time. It's amazing how you can just "not see" the scale when you know your weight is creeping up and just don't want to admit it to yourself.

          Have a great day

Thanks for the 411. I dunno, you could be a 6'2 woman I suppose, but I sorta gathered you were a guy! Nothing wrong with guitar by choice! Music is a big part of my life as well.
