  • 2nd Time around

    Hi everyone!

This is my 2nd go around with Atkins. When I was on it before I lost 40 pounds in about 4 months! But then I got pregnant....... and you know how that goes. My OB refused to let me stay on Atkins while preggo. During my pregnancy I gained all 40 pounds back plus 10 more!! It was not fun seeing the scale hit 230 even knowing that I was preggo. But my daughter is a year old now and even though I have been slowly loosing weight I stopped at 190 about 4 months ago and I haven't done anything to lose the remaining weight. I really want to be the weight I was in high school 130, so I am making that my goal. My best friend Michelle and I are in this together so I have lots of support and motivation.

Atkins really works I know, the hardest part is induction and it is all easy from there (from what I remember, it has been almost 2 years).

The main thing that I need help with is recipes. When I did this before I had way more time on my hands. I need ideas. Pretty much I leave for work at 8am and don't come home until 10pm so everthing I pack needs to be lunchbox friendly.

Well, me and my list are off to the grocery...

    Thanks!!!

                Re: 2nd Time around

Thanks everyone for your warm welcome. Day two of induction is going well. I forgot how thirsty I was on this diet. It makes drinking all the water super easy.

Thanks Sallyseachange for the recipe link. I found a good one for "tacos" with ground beef and lettuce as the taco shell. Such a good idea, I don't know why I didn't think of it! I love spicy food. I found some frozen hamburger patties with jalapenoes and monterey jack cheese in them at the grocery store yesterday. I can't wait to try them.

Induction is hard when you are away from your house for so many hours a day. But if Mish can do it with her schedule then I can too..... It will be nice after induction to be able to have sunflower seeds and macadamia nuts and slim jims because they make nice snacks that wont go bad if they sit in your car for 8 hours. lol.

                Wish me luck!!!

Some people make taco shells by melting a little grated cheese spread in a hot non stick pan then folding them to shape, when still warm. They stiffen when cold. Induction friendly.

Never tried but they sound good.
