    Well, I have always struggled with my weight..always binging on sugars once or twice every week and i mean A LOT of sugar in one sitting..i'd like to say because i am hypoglycemic but that is no excuse really. so recently i started a month long low fat diet with bunches of exercise (i am in the navy so it is kinda mandatory) and a month later i was hungry, bored of my diet, craving sweets like crazy, but nonetheless 8 pounds lighter. I went home on leave and RUINED it...giving into my family's high carb lifestyle that left me binging binging binging. my mom told me about the atkins diet and i bought the book and started right away. 4 days later, thinking that i could still have asparatame in my diet drinks and gum and not realizing that it caused me cravings, i gave into my sweet tooth again...so here i am..back and ready to go BY THE BOOK. no asparatame, plently of water and help from this board. I can use plenty of support and i have bunches of questions so be ready for them all lol!!!

    Start date: May 28th
    SW: 175 GW: 140 CHeight: 5'7 CHips: 42 CThighs: 25
    June 11th: goal =169 MET GOAL, JUNE 3RD (16
    June 25th: goal=165 MET GOAL JUNE 10TH!!
    July 2nd: goal=160
    July 16th: goal=155
    July 30th: goal=150
    August 13th: goal= 145 and 15 inches lost
    August 30th: PT test/Weigh in for the Naval Academy!!!
    Inches lost since May 28th: 2.5 Thighs, 1 hips, 2 waist

        Welcome alaska!! It's good that you now know what some of your trigger foods are so you can avoid them this go round. After a few days on this WOE, you will notice your cravings going away. Stick with it and you will see success in no time!!




        1st mini goal- 225 lbs.-Done!

          Warm welcome to you Alaska! Glad you found ADBB. It's a terrific place to come to if you need encouragement and friendly advice.
          Sounds like you know what causes your cravings already, which is a step in the right direction. Also seems you have the right mindset and determination. I'm sure that if you stay focused, you'll be one of our goalies before too long.

          Post lots and keep us updated as to your progress. We're here for you and happy to share your Atkins ride... hopefully a lifelong ride!
