  • Newbie!! :)

    Hi everyone! New to Atkins and new to forums in general! I started the diet May 28th and have lost 8 lbs. I'm excited but at the same time a little discouraged because the weight loss seems to be a bit higher for other people. However, I did read that 2 lbs a week average weight loss is good so I'm keeping my fingers crossed. I have a goal of 150lbs right now, but I would like to be about 143lbs when it's all said and done! So hopefully I can. My boyfriend and his family did it a few years ago and he lost about 75lbs. He has put a little back on (not nearly what he was though) and so he has started to watch his carbs again to help both of us. I guess I should post my menu somewhere but I don't know where. I just want to know if I am doing things right. I have read the book but you know how easy it can be to overlook certain carbs....especially when you are busy! Anyhow, I love these forums and I'm excited bout getting on a great WOE!

    Welcome to ADBB!

    Don't worry about the "slow" weight loss. Nearly everyone has a pause in their weight loss after the first couple of weeks. It's is referred to as post induction stall syndrome (P.I.S.S.) The weight will come off in time. In the meantime, enjoy your Atkins, the board, and focus on your health.


    Be sure to look around the board! There are all kinds of forums to post in - even a place to journal! There is a forum called "Review My Menu" that seems to be just what you were looking for.

          Hi NYG23! Welcome to the board! 8 pounds so far is awesome! In addition to posting in the Review My Menu, you might want to use www.fitday.com. It's a website where you can log your daily food intake, exercise and weight and it will keep track of your calories/protein and fat. It's a great site!
