Hi all, I am new here. I have been on the Atkins before and 1st time I didn't lose any weight, second time I lost 1kg or so, but it kept fluctuating. I tried going on the Maple Syrup diet and quit, I couldn't do without food. So, to keep it short and nice, I'm back on the Atkins (it's the only diet i've found that seems to make sense). This time I want to do it right, maybe there's something I missed in the past. I would like to lose 40lbs.

OMG, you are in Manchester, UK? I thought most pple here were from the US. I have posted something on the 14 day induction area with what I have been up to I just want to know if I am doing the right thing or not. Or should I follow the recipes meal by meal?

I saw your post in the induction area, seems youve been having probs, you're probably eating something that your not supposed to without realising it, are you drinking enough water? exercising? cutting out all sugars?
If you have any problems do not hesitate to post, there is always someone around who can help you out or just provide motivation if that is what you need, post your menus in the "review my menu" section if you think that needs looking at.
Record your foods at www.fitday.com thats great for reeally working out what you're doing, go to www.mybodycomp and record your measurements, when your not losing pounds, you can go there and see how many inches youve lost for motivation.
If you need any help, just shout! my PM box is always open as is my Journal

Re: Newbie
Hello Mrs Minnie from London. GaynorA here from Newquay. Welcome to the board. Reading the book is the best place to start. Also, planning ahead. If possible, chuck or give away any carb-stuffed foods in your house - or relegate them to an "other members of the family cupboard". Then stock up on what you can eat. The worst bit for me is when I haven't prepared, then I come home from work feeling like I could cheerfully eat a manky camel. I haven't got any low carb ready and waiting ... and then the bread starts looking mighty inviting. So now I know ... take the meat out to defrost in the morning. If necessary, grab some cheese cubes and cucumber while waiting for meat to cook. Busy myself with making a tossed salad. You'll get the hang of it. Lotsa luv to you.Start weight: 103.6 kg (227.92 lbs)
Goal weight: 80 kg (176 lbs)
Now weighing in at ...... 95.6kg (210.32)
Total loss = 8 kg (17.6 lbs)

Re: Newbie
I know ... isn't this board the BEST! I only found it last Sunday myself. I am so chuffed I did though. The gang here seem to be really supportive. It's lovely to know you are walking a path that has been successfully navigated by loads of people all over the world. And they seem to know about all the potential detours too (including wolves lurking in the shrubbery cunningly disguised as cute furry animals). Fab. I'm on day 21 - 13lbs down. Going strong. Lotsa luv.Start weight: 103.6 kg (227.92 lbs)
Goal weight: 80 kg (176 lbs)
Now weighing in at ...... 95.6kg (210.32)
