Re: Hi Guys! New to you!

The fat is very important. There's no way to eat low carb and low fat at the same time. I bet when you up the fat, you will start losing again. What kind of fats and amounts do you eat daily? Mayo on your tuna? Olive oil on the veggies? Full fat salad dressing? That's the way to eat fat and lose weight!

    Here's a link for you:
    http://www.atkinsdietbulletinboard.c...ad.php?t=11313

Do you use www.fitday.com to track your food intake? it will help you with the percentages. Protein should be constant at 30% (+/- a few), fat should be at about 60-65% with the rest carbs. When you plug in your food, it automatically tells you what the percentages are.

Yes! I do! well... i do as of this week I read about it here and started!

As for fat intake... i'm trying to eat some bacon with my breakfast... I eat a can of tuna in olive oil.... I drissle a spoon of mayo (mixed with water for consistency) on my salad..... but thats about it?

I've been starting to use more butter, for example tonight im making baked fish in a herb butter sauce What are other easy, not to gross ways to eat more fat?

      Thanks!

Re: Hi Guys! New to you!

Real full fat salad dressing for one, just make sure there's no sugar in it. There will be natural sugar, so make sure no sugar, molasses, corn syrup etc. Butter's good, bacon is good. You should have like 2 tablespoons of dressing on salad not a drizzle of mayo mixed with water. Eat the skin of chicken do not fear the fat!

So, what has your fitday fat % been since you started keeping track? I think you get it now, fat is good for you when eating low carb. It really does seem you've been low fatting it as well.

Will you try to up your fat to at least 60% each day for like a week and see what happens?

Come read the WORK IT Challenge. There's lots of chatter about these kinds of things. http://www.atkinsdietbulletinboard.c...200#post704200

I actually just posted for a discussion based on the conversations i've had with you here today. Come join us!

Yes i have been low carb and low fatting it.... the food i described before is be amping it up! Its not low fat - its just not high fat. I was on a really high fat atkins diet for 9 months then needed a break - and its good to know that i only put on a few kg (10 pounds?) in 6 months of it.

I just made lunch I used more mayo and added an avo. Thats about as fatty as im at right now!

Yesterday my fit day said my fat protein carbs was right - but i did have 2 cups of mince meat for dinner which is high in fat and protein

Hi folks, I'm also new to this. I have been on Atkins for a little over a month now. I got about 14 pounds off initially, but now, i can't seem to move on. And so I'm asking for you help!!! I typically eat eggs, cheese, and most meats. I will also have fsour cream, cream cheese and a little peanut butter at times. I drink lots of water and I've really cut back on the diet coke. maybe 12 oz a day now. My veggies consist of lettuce, mushrooms, onions, zuchinni, yellow squash, broccolli and cucumbers. I am mainly in moderate ketosis when I test with the ketostix. Any and all advise is greatly appreciated!!! aren't these little faces just the coolest??!!

Hey, if you want to get a kick start, cut out the cheese and diet coke for a week and start EXERCISING. It will give you to boost you need. Make sure you're eating 2 cups of salad veg and one of other veg a day. Make sure you eat regularly too!

Hi Dot ( waving from GEelong Victoria) welcome and goodluck!.

I got my copy of DANDR at Dymocks and bought another onefrom AMAZON.

I have found a mayonnaise here in australia that is readily available at coles . It is in the ASIAN aisle of the supermarket and is called KEWPIE mayonnaise. it comes in a funny squishy bottle and has a cellophane wrapper around it. I think its fantastic oh and its the only one i have found that has no sugar!

Hiya peppersmom and welcome to ADBB.
This is a big board with lots of forums. If I were you, I'd post this query in the Extended Induction forum, where you'll get more views and replies. It risks getting lost here in the middle of someone else's introductory thread.

Anyway... congrats on your awesome 14 lb loss. As for the recent lack of progress... be aware that it's quite typical to have a pause (not stall) in weight loss after the first few weeks on Atkins. We call it the Post Induction Stall Syndrome (PISS!). Sometimes your body just needs to know you're serious. You'll probably start losing again quite soon.
Or... you could be losing inches. In which case sooner or later the scale should catch up.
Otherwise, try cutting out the peanut butter, which is not legal until the Ongoing Weight Loss phase, at the appropriate rung. Another killer is Diet Coke, so you might try taking that out too.
