  • Greetings!

    Hi everyone!

I'm new to the forum, but very well acquainted with the Atkins WOE. I've been on this sugar-induced roller coaster for years now, and am looking (again) to make a lasting change. Today is day 9 of induction, and I'm looking forward to making my way back up those rungs again - STAT!

Today was to be my weigh-day, one full week since my last (yes, I lost 5 lbs. in my first 2 days - talk about water retention!!!), but until I bite the bullet and buy my own scale (something I've kept out of my home all these years on basic principle), I'll be weighing-in on an as-needed basis. Frankly, I'm feeling so good right now, a newer number is not going to do much to change that (unless the progress is discouraging).

So, let the adventure begin! I'm deliriously happy to be over the worst of my sugar cravings and ready to take on the world.

    Who's with me?
    Female - 5'4.5" - Induction Start 2007/07/09 RE-START 2008/04/16

Weigh In 3 156.5 (As of August 21/07)

I've been waiting for you to introduce yourself! You've been so sweet introducing yourself to other newbies, so I'm glad you posted for you!

Welcome to this board. It is an amazing place to be. Contrats on 5 pounds gone already. It's also good to hear that you plan on inducting and then moving to OWL! Additionally, I admire you for not being a scale addict (like me), that takes courage!

You might want to check out the Journal Chats. There's a terrific group of people there with lots of information about life and Atkins to share!

            Re: Greetings!

I like your name... for a while when I first started this WOE I would tell myself and others out loud to remind me of the point... I'd say 'No thanks, I think I'll keep my feet, kidneys, and eyes... ' when confronted with carb food... It helped me stay focused on why I was doing this and the serious complications associated with not complying with this WOE. So when I saw you're name it reminded me of that and so thought I'd say HI! so Hi! that was the long version, sorry. This is such a great place for motivation, come join us in the exersize challenges... It's great!

              Re: Greetings!

Thank you, Hopejoy - I'll do that. I saw a stability ball challenge in there - that seems to be right about my speed for now. I saw some pushup ones too... I need something that requires no major equiptment, since I am lacking in that area.

I, too, need frequent reminding about the hazards and slippery slope sugar paves for me. That's my main struggle, I think. The sugar. But I'm still here on day um... *thinking hard* ELEVEN! And happy to report another 3 lb. loss since my last weigh-in. I don't know if it's just me lately, or the diet, but I can't concentrate all that well these days.

Anyhow - thank you again for stopping by everyone, and offering me your kind words. I'll be back soon for more updates!
